If you have issues switching the knob out of park… push the car forward a but by force to release lock.

It can and WILL go out .. the knob will invariably stick like any piece of moving machinery and when it does it will cost you 2-3 grand to put a new one in. I know because I had mine replaced and I didn’t have the dealership do it either. 💯

Hi. Working on a 2016 Jaguar XE. Stuck in Drive after putting in Neutral manually thru Neutral Switch under the bonnet. Neutral Switch released but stuck in Drive. How to put it back to Park to start it? Thanks

@@saud878 yep. The gear selector switch was faulty. Changed it with a used one.

@@JoeDirt00 my Selector Switch was faulty. Replaced it and that’s it. All done. It doesn’t need to be coded or programmed.

If this goes bad will the car die on you while you’re driving? My boy has one and cant figure out why its not starting so he had it towed here and i had to push it so its parked correctly and in doing so i seen a light that said gearbox something or the other on and thats where i am now.

Will this also help with cranking and starting up my Jag...mines completely stop cranking up and starting once I press the start button like you did in the video...hit me back with some feedback and that part number to replace the whole module unit that you replaced here in this video. I'm willing to buy that brand new and installing it to see if it will finally crank and start so I can start driving my car again

You need th jaguar sdd mongoose program. Connect you're car .scan for all the failures after this clear all the faillures. Then you're gearbox will be In normal mode button will be up and you can start the car.I did this with sdd mongoose, I don't know if this is possible with other programs. Sometimes it helps if you unloose the battery cable.

The gearbox should automatically go into park if the driver forgot to do that. (2010-2015) seems like an electrical malfunction.
