In the title you should add jaguar x type, there will be more views 😁

Extremely well made video for a channel of your size, even got that second camera angle :D I was wondering, since i don't want to sacrifice too much trunk space, would it make sense to put a sub under the rear windshield? (in the trunk there are 2 semi-cutouts)

Great job, my friend! My Jag hasn't got any additional amplifier in the boot, that's why I intend just to change OEM speakers with aftermarket ones and upgrade wiring, maybe moving the rear speakers from doors to the place under the rear windshield. Let's see.
@jcracoustics3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Mine didn't have the additional amp either like the Alpine x-type does. Personally I'd recommend if you're after a more immersive experience keep the door speakers where they are and add a small sub to the boot. You could use the same setup as here splicing into the rear audio cables to get a new amp in for it.

Fair new to the x type. Currently got a 2002 plate 3.0 V6. Don’t the factory head unit if you have the screen have a sub output that needs to be turned on by computer? Unsure on this? If you click the phone button and menu button together for 5/10 seconds it will come up with the options.

How it's sound inside car the subwoofer? I mean,you put into the trunk, which is separated from the rest of the car... You feel/hear the bass intense/good? I have the same car like you, and I want to install a subwoofer in case, like your!
@jcracoustics2 жыл бұрын
Yeh it's certainly loud enough! You can if you want it to be really loud fold down one of the back seats but I find it's enough without.
@Dragoshm2o2 жыл бұрын
@@jcracoustics Thanks for answering! What do you think if I install without case, only the sub, on the dashboard trunk? It will sounds good or I lose the loud?

how do you splice up into speaker wires in a jag
@jcracoustics2 жыл бұрын
You can find the wiring manual online and you simply find the colour associated with the L/R rear channels in the back (for me I looked in the pillar next to the front seats). I then used a ratchet wire stripper to expose some of the copper and then soldered another cable to that to run to the rear subs (making sure to insulate with tape or heat shrink at the join).

Why's that buddy? Nothing wrong with splicing into audio cables, you might be able to identify a minute voltage drop through an oscilloscope but nothing audible especially when you're talking about the sub 250Hz range.
