Thanks, still working on my Jaguar. I replaced the fuel pump, alternator, fuel filter, O2 sensor upstream (right), and the throttle body/ignition fuse my car will only idle at below idle where the car is shaking and there is no gas pedal function. I press on gas pedal and nothing. then of course it cuts out. So frustrated but am OK with it. I will not let it conquer me. I did notice when the car went out, I was driving home and everything got hot in the car from the A/C and when I turned the car off at home it never ran again. I mean it will start but will not keep running. No pedal. All this work. Was thinking of Throttle Position Sensor, Electronic throttle Control. I do have an oil leak towards the left plugs which I cleaned a couple of times and sealed a few times with engine oil sealer which worked for a long time. I think that is what ruined my original Alternator. Finding oil in the plugs was scary. I did notice a couple years ago when I tried to turn on cruise control the car cut out on the highway. I get that error message on display and something about the gearbox. Any more advice? ~Amedeo777

It is possible that the Electronic Throttle Control module is faulty but there are many more potential causes and a diagnostic scan is highly recommended. Gearbox fault comes together with the cruise control not a available, which may be caused by vacuum leaks. At least I got rid of it only after fixed intake manifold grommets. Thank you for watching! I don't quite understand which valve you mean. Idle Control Valve (throttle bypass) number is 1L5E9F715AB, Intake Manifold Air (Tuning) Valve is XW4E9L490AD. Cheers!

@@jaguarrroman Thank you 🙂. I was meaning the 1L5E9F715AB Idle Control Valve (throttle bypass). Unluckely looking for it on eBay I see around only spares from China... do you know something about their reliability ?...maybe better a used but original one ?... About the other XW4E9L490AD Intake Manifold Air (Tuning) Valve, do you know if there are differences between those coming from 2.1L petrol cars and those coming from 2.5L/3.0L petrol ones ?... thank you in advance for your suggestions 🙂

@@AlfredoCoffari No Chinish for sure, only OEM parts, no matter brand new or pre-used. You can search on Ebay for / NEW - OUT OF BOX - OEM Ford 1L5E-9F715-AB Idle Air Control Valve IAC / and consider purchasing it. As for the XW4E9L490AD part, I believe it is the same for all V6 Jaguar engines, the difference is that it is mounted horizontally on 2.5 and 3.0.

Hello Jaguarroman, Thank you for explaining how to deal with jaguar x type issues 2.1 liter. As far as I am concerned I had problem with misfiring and after many visits to mechanics I found it. It was combined between the throttle body and the intake gaskets. Now i have another problem that I didn't resolve yet. But it's sure it's about misfiring once again.

Can anyone tell if there is a good mechanic that understands how to clean it in UK Cambridge area ..
