Jaguar XJL 2014 loose Battery

I like these jag XJR, and I really would like to buy one...but I need awd...I wonder if they would be able to retrofit the awd drivetrain of the 6 cylinder awd XJ on the V8 XJR.

I cannot stop the negative battery connector from moving no matter how hard I tighten the nut. almost as if the battery terminal is too small for the battery connector. like something is missing. I looked into the jaguar parts to find if a part should go over the terminal before the battery terminal connector is put over the terminal so it will tighten down without moving. FNo issue with the negative terminal.

Did you notice a white clips , with two terminal near the positive side of the main battery I changed the battery however I do not see any thing to plug this I will shoot a picture of it if you can help me , since my car is same model and year of your car

That's the Start/Stop battery, it's essentially a motorbike AGM 12v battery. See Exide EK151-AGM

My 2013 XJ Jag engine light on but when it read up is saying some about a battery do you think that's my problem

It is a beautiful car, but I was hoping to see how you replace the battery. Mine is completely dead and need to put it on a charger for a few days.

So you jump start it with the battery in the trunk?

I don't think your stallings were due to the battery as the alternator takes over once its running - Great spot to find the loose connections though :)

In fact, the XJ is heavily dependent on the battery while running. If it doesn't get enough voltage, it goes into restricted performance mode - AKA, limp mode. I recently went through this. I was also getting a misfire on cylinder 1 code for a month. One day, it wouldn't even start. Just kept turning over. Tightened up the cable connections and I haven't had an issue since.

@@brussellrosenthal2362 Totally agree but my point was that the engine is mostly reliant of its own ancilliaries but, as you mentioned, the batteries are critical for the MANY computers they have to support ;)

Tightening the battery terminal fixed the electrical gitches i was having.

My battery light is on and I am getting a battery monitoring fault on the dash The alternator is charging fine . Any one ever had this problem
