Heres why, in my own opinion, Garrus is my favorite: From the absolute beginning, Garrus was there. He helped you find Saren. He helped you even when you were with Cereberus ( Looking at you, Ashley/Kaiden ) He fights by your side during when the whole galaxy was going to shit. Garrus was a brother-in-arms. He was never too busy to help Shepard out.

Garrus was boring in ME1. But he got so much more interesting starting with ME2 that everyone prefers to forget how blandly he was written in the first game. In ME1, Wrex was best bro. Dude didn't even have any personal incentive to join Shepard's crew (unlike Garrus and Tali), apparently his one and only reason for coming along is because he finds Shepard intriguing. And then Shepard's example inspires Wrex to return to his people and lead literally his entire species, because it turns out he's basically krogan royalty. Damn, Wrex was the real celebrity on Normandy SR1's crew, but no one on board knew it.

It's funny if you have friends of different ethnicities/cultures who rib each other. It's not to insult or offend, it's to poke fun at the worst examples. Or to highlight welcome changes or explain the reasoning behind different ways of thinking. The Wrex and Garrus dynamic is an awesome example of that. They grow off of each other, they become genuine friends. Despite their very different cultures, their species history, and their own personal history prior to the first game. They become ambassadors of their races and use their friendship to unite them against a common enemy. All the while giving each other massive amounts of shit. I love it. I also can never bring myself to romance Tali or Garrus after my first play through of 3, they make such a cute couple.

Yep, if you bring him to Noveria in ME1, he remarks that Turians in general really hate cold temperatures. It's an evolutionairy trait. Palaven's magnectic field is weak, therefore surface temperatures are extremely high and solar radiation is intense, to the point all other species besides Krogans are required to wear enviro-suits in order to visit Palaven. The carapace and plates that form the equivalent of "skin" to the Turians is mostly metal in it's composition, so yeah... they get cold much faster than other species 😂

Garrus is 10/10 my favorite. And shockingly, he is a lot younger than I thought. He’s in his twenties or thirties. When I think of the age of aliens, I always think they would have longer life span and be nearing a hundred and still considered to be very young for their species.

Yeah, Turians and Quarians are the only main species that age at a similar rate as humans. Salarians age faster, while Asari and Krogan age much, much slower.
