Today, November 29th, is the World Jaguar Day. You couldn’t have chosen a better date to upload this video. Henrique is a great guy and a wonderful photographer, I’ve had the chance of meeting him on my first visit to Pantanal in 2021. As a Brazilian, I’m very happy to see the Pantanal as such a desired destination for wildlife photography

Wonderful footage. I will heading there this coming July to photograph the jaguars, so seeing this was very exciting for me. I can take either my canon 100-500 or my 500 f4 but not both - which do you think would be better?

I have videos on my page about the kit that I use on shoots. In terms of camera settings, I don’t use fixed settings in depends on the lighting / species / type of shot I want etc.

@@RoxytheZoologist greed and miss information are biggest offenders. I spent the 1980 out in north American west. To go out there today and see all the habitat lost to subdivisions and towns and cities sprawling out is truly heartbreaking. We are leaving no room for the wildlife. I know you most be busy but don't give up and keep up with the good work !

Love your video images. As a fellow Nikon shooter (Z8) I’m keen to understand how you get the best from your camera. H265, ProRes 422HQ or raw or Nikon raw? Log or non log? Do you use ND filters? Do you stabilise in camera or in post? Very professional production.
@RoxytheZoologistАй бұрын
It depends on the project what settings I shoot in 😁 but very rarely would ProRes / raw be necessary. Again, log or non log depends on the project too and the time I have available for colour grading - I’d say probably about 50/50 on that. As you could see from the BTS clips, I was leant on the side of the boat, no gimbal, so not stable at all in the field haha

Amazing documentary. Can we use AI to identify the jaguars instead of using book to identify? someone should help creating an mobile app.
@RoxytheZoologistАй бұрын
The ID project uses a mobile app already - so that guides / guests can upload their sightings with a photo, location, information about the behaviour etc., but it relies on the people to then go through and confirm the ID - so I’m sure AI would help them with that for sure!
