A sign of things to come as the Jaguars would make two return trips to Foxborough over the next four seasons in the postseason only to come away empty handed. Then another decade later, their Super Bowl dreams would also be dashed in Foxborough (just as they were in 1996).

You can tell that the Jacksonville jaguars were definitely on the rise, and that defense front reminds you of a lot of hard-nosed, old-school NFL teams, showing that physicality makes a big difference and keeps offenses in the game, referring to their mountain by pressuring the other one, regardless of record, like the movie, any given Sunday, that’s what the NFL really is. PS, random thought as well: a lot of people talk about how Bill Belichick was cold with a lot of the Boston media up here, but I’ve always noticed in a lot of these interviews. He did with Armen Keteyian, that he was always open, honest upfront about things, and it goes back to what I believe which is respect, gained disrespect earned and when you’re not constantly calling out someone or questioning your character or what you’re trying to do, it allows for there to be a mutual respect between one and another and I think a lot of people nowadays can, look at that and say that’s a really solid positive way to conduct yourself with a year head coach of a NFL franchise with a reporter or a supervisor with your employee/vice versa/etc.

Sure, and let's ignore the fact that offense had Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Antonio Brown, Gronk and Leonard Fournette on it. Along with 3 pro bowl O-Linemen. But ok.

Byron Leftwich never had any help and he suffered because of it. If he had a better supporting cast, he could have been among the top QBs in this time period.

I thought he looked solid watching him in this game. I wondered why i never heard of him.

All he had was Fred Taylor and old ass jimmy smith. Might be the worst collection of skill players ever

Nah. He had enough opportunities with the talent around him. His backup QB David Garrard took the same talent and got them further along than Byron could.

When Gumbel throws it to Armen Keteyian, Keteyian briefly sounds like Arnie Pye.

I swear these announcers are jinxes. Every time they're over their mouths the opposite happens. In the beginning he says the Patriots are up against the defense that's only allowed 9 points from all of their opponents this season per game. Thank you jinx

I'll tell you I don't know how some of these guys get coaching jobs. You got Mark Brunell as a quarterback and you play the entitled underprivileged because well it's the NFL and they have to be politically correct
