You were asked by the reporter to free style any of your dad's songs, to which you chose blockbuster "Wekumaruzevha". I told the people around me kuti mupfana uyu achanetsa pa music. Fast forward to Tuku's death and boom, there was this handsome, fresh looking young man ,who had done a duet with the legend. The song was "Ndizarurire and it was bellowing on virtually all the radio and television stations, in people's cars bars, everywhere. It was then that I reflected on that earlier interview , and indeed I was right. The pint-sized Gary Muponda was on the rise. Given that the Persians thought the limelight would be on them, they were virtually shocked out of their skins to see the lights beaming bright on this David of a boy. Out of shock and disbelief they thought they would pull you down through intimidation. How wrong they were! The actions backfired on them. You won sympathizers and supporters, while they damaged their reputation. As the adage goes: "You can't keep a good man down". Just go on, young man. Keep doing what you know best (music) and you will surely rise to the heights you were meant to be. They can't stop the storm. P.S. Desist from arguing with them through interviews such as this one and do you talking in the studio, through music. Your youthful energy is better spent there than fighting the jealous ones.
