Dying Light 2 Nightmare Difficulty Is Scary AF

This video we are playing dying light 2 after the kinda recent nightmare update. we are going to be checking out the new chase system and seeing what came with dying light 2 nightmare mode even though I'm late to it.

No, no. You're right. Dying Light 1's combat and physics is just *chef's kiss* Techland completely forgot what made Dying Light special with Dying Light 2. They saw that people complained about human combat in 1 so instead of doubling down on the infected they did the opposite.

I feel they made it too cinematic compared to 1's grounded and gritty brutality. But they are alowly bringing that back. An update at a time. Still love both games

I feel like people's problems with accepting dying light 2 is that it's stylistically very different than dying light 1 and even though both r zombie survival games the first one obviously Trump's in brutality and realism the dying light 2 is a much more sandbox focused survival game with more of an emphasis on human fights and that's okay feel like people want to force dying light 2 into a mold of the first game whenever it should be recognized for its differences and still appreciated as its own game

No, you're completely right about the flashlight. Techland says that changing the flashlight would be expensive because they'd need to change the entire lighting system. If that's the case then they should just do it and change the lighting system. It's needed. Just look at how flat everything looks at 7:33. The last update made everything look better but it clearly wasn't enough. They need to do a complete lighting overhaul with dynamic day and night cycles. They've listened to the fanbase and made major changes to the game many times. So why can't they listen to the players about the flashlight too?

The addition of Tyrants in chases is very nice, now if only there was a consistent way to find hives... And as a side note; they didn't say the lighting system needed a complete rework for the flashlight (i made the mistake of thinking thats what techland was saying too) they said that in response to having complete dynamic lighting throughout the day and night, and for a slight defense of techland while mods can do these things modders aren't worrying about consoles, nor are they trying to optimize anything added for a system over a decade old at this point.

Everyone wining about the flashlight sounds slow, dont play it if it's such a big deal, they fixed so much and y'all just finsld the lamest stuff to complain about. There's a lot more than the flashlight they xould put effort into fixing anf they have. If you had the flashlight you claim you want good luck using your paraglider and seeing where you're going.

planning to buy dying light 2 soon, when it came out i didnt want it cuz there was quite a lot that seemed off about it, but its cool to see techland putting so much care into the game and bringing it up to what it should have been.

1:40 I have a video posted showing that like a week before the game was released they had flashlight inertia like slimecicle made a video playing this game early kevduit has one 2 and in both of them flashlight inertia is present in DL2

I don't think the inertia part needs much work. I think it's just the shadows the flashlight casts that they say needs a lot of work to pull off. I appreciate jahmy mentioning it but man does his long rants get old quick. It's bad but not THAT bad.

And this is what I do I turn off all my HUD settings and go immersive mode it only show my Health bar and I turn on gritty and darker on nightmare mode to have the best experience ever also turn on physical parkour and all the other settings you want and enjoy yourself stay safe. Nightmare difficulty felt fine but it is just not rewarding once You get to level 250 or more because You won't even care about it anymore unless You want to max it but even so after level cap, the difficulty give nothing back except ridiculous amount of damage anything does to you even biters. The higher rarity promised? Wasn't even there at all, You better be off with Medium to Hard difficulty and the game would still reward you the same. Also because of the any movement start up after complete stop or after getting hit is just so slow, most of the time You just dies on the spot because funny that your enemy hit is faster than your running speed start up + spit even stop you in mid air so Nightmare difficulty became even more just a pain to do than to be enjoyed. Although the best thing about this game is still running around like a fool, at least it is still enjoyable despite the collisions bug

Dl2 is still my most fav game in the world and ik some hardcore dl1 fan is gonna get butthurt after hearing that but idc ppl are so quick to mock , judge and pick at dl2 for its problems but not dl1 both games arent perfect but some pll just wont stop complaining about the little things that dont even take away that much from the game also it gets better every update and additions , can ppl just give techland a bloody break their game studio isnt as big or as funded as a company like rock* games but unlike them techland actually cares aboit the games well being and the community and ppl just cry about anything and i mean this when i say theres nothing wrong with giving criticism and feedback but atleast acknowledge the GREAT things about this game and give them a break. Flashlight inertia might not be that expensive, but dynamic shadows is expensive to add in, especially if the whole game was built without it to begin with.

Yes but even flashlight inertia alone and reducing the bloom would make a massive difference

And the lighting mechanics are already built into the game, they even have correct lighting in photo mode and there’s even a glitch that gives those shadows in game so yeah they are already achievable. A KZbinr called jdauk had this glitch and he had dynamic shadows after a photomode glitch

i think this update is mid but the paraglider is reducing its stamina a bit too fast because you should be able to glide a little bit more but well other than that im not that impressed with this update just literal torture mode there is no anything fun in this update biters and any other human enemies is doing damage like a volatiles is crazy nothing to say but exaggeration of an update💀💀
