Hi Guys - This is the second time I am posting this video. I had to make a couple adjustments from a couple of major oversights I made. Thank you to the gentleman that made me aware of the errors, much appreciated. Please let me know if there are any other adjustments to make. It is extremely important to me to get everything right. Awesome stuff mate. The Samoan war cry gave me chills. I grew up in Australia and played rugby league in a competition full of Māoris and Islanders. Hearing that again brought me back to my teenage years standing up against 120kg 18 year olds 🤣 scary stuff. You wouldn’t believe how gentle they are in public but absolute monsters on the field. Very family oriented and often we’d go to parks and find whole families singing and cooking. Beautiful culture. The cruiserweight division is starting to take some shape. We have CBS and Zurdo facing off soon, Jai with his IBF mandatory and now Ryan Rozicki is fighting for the interim WBC belt against Yamil Peralta who lost to Ryan previously. Would like to see some stuff on Ryan if he gets the belt 👍 I’m sure the Canadians would love some coverage on him.

It’s frustrating and confusing when your memory lets you down. As a school teacher it has caused me some embarrassing moments over the years. I suffer from migraines as well which is a big part of my memory loss. I feel like memory loss can be caused by a sort of chemical imbalance in the brain which causes a bit of a misfire. Thanks for the Jai content. I was devastated after Tim’s bad outing. We’ve gone through a pretty dry period here in Australia, but recently things have turned around for us, and we now have a number of lads pushing into the upper levels. Jai has the ability to be a once in a lifetime boxer. He’s shaping to be the most complete athlete we’ve had in the ring.

Good video mate, I'm thinking this will be a stay busy fight for jai while he awaits the cbs/zurdo winner. Jai reminds me of a more powerful spiteful bivol he's a real force to be reckoned with.
@boxingontheedge1127 күн бұрын
Cheers mate. Yeah definitely a stay busy fight. I wonder how he will approach his training camp, he appears to go all out, perhaps it might be wise have a more of a technical camp. Hard camps could possibly be saved for the his fights. Not sure, just a thought. Yeah definitely a more spiteful powerful Bivol. Bivol defense is far more ingrained but Jais offense is his defense most of the time Cheers 🙏✨️
@Samual_3327 күн бұрын
@@boxingontheedge11 that would make sense the technical aspect in camp, not sure if you caught them but in pre fight interviews recently jai spoke of teaming back up with his father and going back to basics, as in going back to the roots of his amateur success and working on his boxing basics that his dad instilled in him back in the day. He isn't as defensively sound as bivol I agree I think his power and urge to finish a fight counteract the defensive holes he sometimes leaves.
@Samual_3327 күн бұрын
Sorry mate I replied while still watching just heard you mention about his dad in camp @@boxingontheedge11
@boxingontheedge1127 күн бұрын
@Samual_33 I did see that about his dad, actually made a video about it too. His dad sounds like a right legend. Seems like a great move. Yeah Bivol is far superior defensively. His mind is hardwired to defend himself, particularly during and after his punches. It's quite remarkable actually.

This is an excellent platform/channel. Your analysis and breakdowns are both entertaining, informative and educational. Over the last 6 months I’ve begun to pay close attention to Jai Opetaia. Regarding his Chin and ability to absorb shots. I think it’s a genetic gift that Polynesians/Pacific Islanders can absorb damage. David Tua (VS Lennox Lewis) and Mark Hunt are examples. As it stands…Jai Opetaia is the only Aussie (of Samoan 🇼🇸 heritage) that will Unify all the belts in the Cruiser Weight Division. I’ve a question or two I’d like you to answer… It seems like there is hurdle after hurdle for Jai to unify the belts. Why is that? & Would you consider doing a ‘Hypothetical’ breakdown of Jai entering the Heavyweight Division and how he’d handle the transition . Would his athleticism and all the skills he displays at his current weight…would it transfer? Of all the belt holders and top tier contenders…how would Jai match up against them?
@boxingontheedge1127 күн бұрын
Thanks man. Appreciate it. I really do my best to provide the best content I possible can. Yeah the chin is. defiantly genetics, really fascinating actually. David Tua had a great chin yea. Regarding the IBF hurdles, I really don't know mate, I tend to not really pay that much attention if. im honest. I give all my energy to the skill and heart side of boxing. Politics. in boxing has always and will always be a murky element to the sport and often fighters get caught on the wrong side. With Jai though, it is only going to piss him off more lol. That is an interesting idea for a video actually. Perhaps I'll get something together in the coming weeks for sure. Thanks for the suggestion. Cheers for tuinin in 🙏

@@DA_81C the two biggest names in history to move from the CW division to the HW are Holyfield and Uysk. Both these guys are similar in size and foot work to Jai. And they were able to transition their skills perfectly. Holyfield at his prime in the HW division was only 95-97kg. As was Mike Tyson. Jai sits comfortably at 91kg with all the dieting and training. Remembering that Jai is also has Pacific Islander (PI) genetics. Putting on 5kg and carrying it comfortably won’t be an issue. If Jai can move up to HW after unifying the CW division, in my opinion will surprise a lot of people. Everybody thought Uysk would not get past Chisora. But Uysk boxed his ears off, AND has continued to box the whole division’s ears off to become the undisputed champ! Jai has all the attributes to follow suit. 🇦🇺🇼🇸👊🏾💯
@DA_81C27 күн бұрын
@@unknownsamoan01Thanks for the response. What is the opinion of Jai remaining at Cruiser Weight? Should he remain there to Unify? What is the likelihood he’ll get the chance to Unify within the next 18-24months. Should he move up to Bridger (whatever the hell that is) Should he move up to Heavy Weight and with the current line up of champion/former champions/contenders in the HV division how do would he go? I hope he moves up…aside from Usyk…HV division has been lacking the since the 80’s-90’s era. Bowe…Holyfield…Tyson…Lewis…even fighters that didn’t quite have the status like Tommy Morrison, David Tua, Michael Moored and Oliver McCall. Jai…move up and put the HV division notice.
@unknownsamoan0127 күн бұрын
@@DA_81C Jai has to stay and unify to get him directly into the top 10 and a bigger marketing campaign 💰💰💰💰. He needs to hit the ground with momentum and respect in the HW division. My Fav era of HW boxing was the 80’s and 90’s. Absolute beat mode. I’ll take the 10 ten of the 90’s (includes Iron Mike) against any top 10 era.

(Thanks for the upload) I see victory for Opetaia but hear me out - watch him hit the canvas. Ridicule all you want, but the LAST thing to go in these older guys is their power. Look at both fights with Briedis: broken jaw and nose. Opetaia will get hit in this fight. Was recently checking out Cinkara after seeing if Turkey had any cruiserweights, and this guy is serious.
@boxingontheedge1126 күн бұрын
@johnnyhogan5880 Thanks. I certainly won't be ridiculing you. I strongly disagree, although anything is possible in a boxing ring. Briedis is a quality operator and waited very very patiently for those shots. And jai took them quite well. He was hurt of course. The likes of Billam-Smith knows they can avoid Opetaia by delaying the fight, forcing Opetaia to deal with a mandatory or lose his belt. The IBF in the mean time couldn't care less of how stupid it is that they took Jai's belt away for having a fight instead of waiting for months for Briedis, their new mandatory because there was no one else, was ready. Just a really ill thought out decision, they have no contingency for someone like Opetaia, instead they just choose to punish him and other belt holders who are ducking know they can use the IBF's rules against Jai, which they are.
@boxingontheedge1125 күн бұрын
I think with CBS they are just looking to get a pay day before the Opetaia fight, which I honestly don't blame them. Boxing is a business at the end of the day and if you have a belt then you can certainly get more money. Cos after he fights Opetaia, he very likely won't have a belt lol
