As a fellow vocaloid fan, it’s genuinely impressive that Jaiden can mainly listen to one Vocaloid’s songs and not dabble with the rest. Ik I started with Gumi that slowly turned into Miku and Rin/Len. But that eventually snowballed into other platforms like Teto and Solria. Vocaloid is a very snowballing fandom to get yourself into. So idk if I should be impressed or concerned for Jaiden lol

I think with music and listening to it and connecting is just a matter of what resonates with you. I personally can listen to almost everything, as long as I connect to it but I tend to lean towards rock and symphonic metal and opera and folk music. That's why I also like musicals and soundtracks...bc they are kinda like classical/operatic music as they are a score to something. Now, I would NOT go to a concert, not a huge one bc I'm not a fan of crowds but I would absolutely worship my friend if they got me good, first row tickets to opera.

I only know two Fall Out Boy songs: Fallen Leaves, and Diamond on a Landmine. Depending on what I like about the sound of it or if it just has a cool intro, that's kinda how I get the idea to put some songs on my mp3. I wouldn't have gotten my butt into chiptunes without Battle Network, or found out about 1990s tracker music if not for the homebrew channel's Wii Bagel. I like Miku for what she is but I'm not gonna remember certain songs but she's made an impact. The way I found this kind of music was through AMVs. I was watching a whole bunch of channels making AMVs. And then one of them made a video titled something like "MMD Conqureror". I often look up the original source of either the music or the anime. And when I was looking for the original "Conqueror" music video my brain took a while to process, what I was looking at. Ever since then I have been constantly watching MMD videos or listening to voice synthesized music. Including Hatsune Miku.

Thanks, I now have that *entire Fallout Boy album* stuck in my head. I'm one of those people that doesn't listen to bands faithfully too. I got into vocaloid in junior high but was fortunate enough to find a lil friend group that all loved vocaloid (and creepypasta but that's another topic lol) I was so cringy I would literally print out the lyrics to my favorite vocaloid songs, (both the romaji and the English translations) memorize them so I could sing along, and take the pages to school with me to show some of my favorite teachers after class for some reason (no I didn't sing for them, thank the lord... I just showed them the lyrics and gushed about it to them.. and showed one of them some of the song videos on my phone...)

I may have been the only one who liked reading manga and watching anime in most of my classes....but I was able to convert some people into liking anime. When some of the kids on my table asked what I was reading, I'd blurt out a huge summary about the manga. I knew I converted them because a few days later, they would tell me they like the anime of the manga I was reading. Eventually, I had people to talk to near the end of high school.
