He then says 'maybe he'll warm up to us if you show him your hot moves' which the Freezie takes offence to. So it could be considered self defence.

The thing about all the arrows constantly changing colors? All the older DDRs before a certain point did that. They cycled from gold to blue and back, and the ones on the half-beats had their cycle offset from the ones on the beat. Once they thought to try solid color-coding, everybody preferred it and nobody wanted to go back. Konami sometimes takes awhile to catch on to things.
