I don't latch onto the parts about kissing or holding hands or whatever it is people do on dates other than the scheduled activity. Coming here two years later to say that Speed Dating For Ghosts is a genuinely evocative and haunting (pun unintended actually) experience. Riley's romance is QUALITY, and just in general the game is a well-written lesson in peeling back facades and bravado and seeing how remorse is a powerful motivator for change. I'm glad I gave it a shot and weirdly it WAS because of the overly critical review here lol. I was like "... I feel like the surface wasn't very well scratched here, lemme check it out." Glad I did.

It came across more like aesthetic attraction instead of romantic one. You can think someone is cool or looks pretty in the same way you might enjoy a sunset or a pretty dress. It's a common misconception that aesthetic attraction inherently leads to romantic attraction, but they are different things. So while spookypeter may not have won her heart, she may still admire him. Honestly, I think these dating games may have been an "oooooh, that makes sense" or "oooooh, I get it now" moment for her. And I think that's what's so good about dating simulation games. They might satisfy your need to feel loved, they might help you narrow down your type, they might even just provide fun stories and they might help you realize a lot about yourself. Though I will admit that I would prefer to be given other interesting options in my recommended games list once a while 😅
