Jaime Camil’s work has been a huge part of my upbringing. My family perceives him as an iconic actor. Jaime Camil is referred to as a handsome, humble, charismatic, and successful figure in our country. As a therapist who goes to therapy and continues to work on learning about the people I serve while simultaneously learning about myself and my trauma, I find it heart warming to see the men of my culture represented. It gives me the opportunity to go up to the men in my life and say “LOOK JAIME GETS IT” Thank you for having him it made me immensely happy 💚

This episode really hit home, when Jaime talked about his Dad blaming him when things wouldn’t work… gave me flashbacks. Made me realize even to this day, I’m still scared of touching my dad’s stuff for that same reason. Every episode not only do I feel retable to it but also enlightens something new. As always, thank you!

Awww what a joy Jaime is. I thoroughly enjoyed this interview. It would be up there as one of my favourites (I dont think anyone could topple Alok from the No 1 spot). I don't think I've laughed so much in one of your interviews. And my heart was really touched when he talked about fatherhood. I loved the Godzilla story. He is very funny and also it was very touching to hear him talk about his father. The one line I wrote down today which sums up my relationship with work (workaholism, like my father) is something Justin said "My drive is really just a trauma response to be loved and to be valued." So much about our society values workaholism and drive, its seen as noble, so it's really a hard addiction to crack. But like it was talked about, if I had had that approval, maybe I wouldn't have strived so hard. (see, getting societies approval for working hard. so still approval seeking)

I found Jaime on Netflix playing Vicente Fernandez. His KZbin channel is very interesting, and he and his wife Heidi are doing a *BEAUTIFUL* job with his kids! His daughter said "we have to be patient with nature" such a mature and gentle soul she is! His son is simply adorable as well! ¡Bien trabajo, Jaime y Heidi!

Love love love! I really admire Justin's "pace" in these conversations - whether the other person makes a joke or a comment, he always knows how to slow down the conversation and get back to the important stuff. I don't know how he does it but it's very inspiring! Also, Jaime's a great guy. I think it's respectable how, after what he's been through with his dad in his childhood, he chose not to copy his behavior, which really isn't something we can take for granted, seeing how most people do the opposite (mostly unconsciously of course). "I wanna be here everyday" - me too, Jaime!

I watched this yesterday and literally came back today to listen to it in its entirety a second time. I appreciate Jaime's openness and willingness to be vulnerable. I usually learn a lot from these episodes and/or often think of how a certain family member/friend would benefit from hearing it. Jaime, in particular, reminded me a lot of my mother and her upbringing. Even though I have a lot of compassion for my mom and often speak with her about her struggles with anxiety and OCD, hearing the connection between growing up under harsh parenting and becoming intolerant about disorganization and chaos reminded me that her struggle to handle a messy home for a day may not simply be the result of the OCD/anxiety but rather the OCD/anxiety was exacerbated by her upbringing. To her, it was similarly treated as a life or death situation and it was all on her shoulders to make sure everything was perfect. It impresses me how evolved Jaime is as he is actively working on himself and his relationships. My mom is not at that point and would be more on the defensive side if I mentioned the way she is so generous to others rather than her own family. However, seeing these similarities (they are both very charismatic conversationalists) makes me hopeful about her becoming that way and open to working on herself.

First podcast of yours I watched and I felt it all. What an awesome person Jaime Camil is. His honesty, humor and love for his family was great to hear. Growing up in a latin household and getting spanked every time I misbehaved definitely helped shape the way I act with my children now (I never spank them or throw objects at them when I know very well that's not the only way to show them right from wrong). Took many years for me to see my dad differently as an adult but I now see how he just did what he was taught to do and how he was probably disciplined and raised. It didn't make it right, but sadly that's just the way it was. Thank you to all that put this interview together. I will be coming back to watch and hear more of these for sure. Won't lie - what got me here listening to it is me being a big fan of JTV - but what kept me listening was how genuine a person he was. Loved it all!

Loved this episode. I related so much to what Jaime said because I grew up being abused. It stays with you for a long time and for awhile I struggled with people pleasing and striving to do things better to get that acceptance I didn’t get as a child. But in a way it taught me a lot and now I help people with trauma through the work that I do. So at least I’ve channeled it into something positive 🙏🏻💛

This is amazing. I am rewatching Jane and I wanted to learn more about Jaime and this was the first non character video of him I have seen. What an amazing being. He kind of brought up some of the arguments I have for not going to therapy but having you guys talk about it made me feel like I should make more effort. All in all the topics and conversations were really interesting. I got a feeling of being vulnerable myself when it was over.

So when Jaime was talking about his son and the Godzilla I was laughing so hard because that is both of my nephews to the ground. He described it so perfectly. Also that LAX story had me rolling and I loved how he showcased the absurdity of that mysoginistic tendency to view a personal fault as a challenge to other people. Like "I messed up so I'm going to challenge/bully you into apologizing to me so I don't have to lose face." I love how he was still low key annoyed about that nonsense. Love that dude! Keep doing the good work y'all!

Maybe he likes the breath work because it doesn’t deal with the real feelings, yet the breath work is a physical release of the stuffed emotions. Breathwork releasing the physical manifestations of trauma and now use the mental health counseling hopefully to release the mental blocks and reword the responses of trauma.

Oh so moving to experience Jaime speak of the day to day walking on eggs, never knowing what could be coming form his father. And to be physically hurt over and over! How important therapy is. And the gentleman letting him know if things weren't perfect, everything would be OK. ..Sometimes it is hard to put into words the impact. I think the little tender child in all of us, me for sure, feels a little safer and acknowledged.

I really liked this episode, but I kept feeling confused about Jaime being in character, or making jokes or feeling uncomfortable. Not sure what it was. Some of it felt like he was deflecting. However I do not know what it feels to be in the room, and in all the previous episodes I always feel you get a good read of the guest and gently approach the topics you (and I) are so passionate about. This didn't happen as much here, and maybe Jaime in real life is as funny as Rogelio... (but he wasn't invited to the show... #stillconfused)... Loved seeing him be confident enough to say words in Spanish and say "I don't know how to say that in English" and keep going! Normalizing bilingualism

What another Awesome Podcast .Jaime and Justin you both are Exactly the same kind of dads in real life as you were on JTV together. I also love the way you both and our own Man Enough Jamey openly admit that you are not just dads teaching your children but also dads learning from your children from the Challenge and Joys you experience with them together with your Beautiful Wives. Then again the topic of Therapy! You guys do you realize you were actually having a Therapy session with each other in this Podcast...And Liz I think you need another session with Jaime as there seemed to be a lot more you wanted to discuss💞. I could see and tell that Jaime's answers to the Rapid Five Questions really touched Jamey and Justin as dads.✨✨

Than you all of them, who are showing the true of been a good human.
