You know what they call me? Kingslayer. Oathbreaker. Man without honor.
Here it is, I knew it was going to happen, I just didn't know if it's gonna be ep 5 or ep 6.
I don't do character studies much and I don't do this kind of editting, even if I always admired it. But it goes so well with portraying character that I gave it a chance and tried it myself.
Jaime Lannister is one of my ultimate favourite characters ever. And thank God for Nikolaj who portrayed him so well and his acting brought tears to my eyes so many times.
Jaime's end was and wasn't how I expected it, I thought he will die with Cersei, but I believed that he would be the one who will kill both of them. I didn't like Cersei too much, but in this episode, when she and Jaime met and when they died. It was just beautifuly tragic. How he comforted before they died. My heart broke.
Jaime's journey was special, I came from hate him to love him. And in the end I think he knew that he is coming to his death when he was leaving Winterfell. He was a knight I wanted him to die bravely, but on the other hand, the whole time his main story was always Cersei. He died for love and I can respect that.
RIP our Golden Lion.

Unfortunately due to the rushed finale I didn't shed a single tear when any of the characters died. But when Brienne filled out Jaime's page in the Kingsguard book I cried like a baby. "Died protecting his Queen" ='(

I was sad for 3 days (stupid girl I told to myself, it's only tv) now, many years later, I am older, wiser and I am mourning the same way like years ago over tv show character. You never learn. The great ser Jaime lannister...Who chose to fight besides living by keeping his oath...Fought bravely slaying many undead without thinking of himself... though being one-handed by loosing his sword hand he showed valour in the battle of winterfell...Fought besides Brienne of tarth and knighted her to be the Knight of 7 kingdoms...A true legend, a warrior lion who kept all his oath he ever took in his last days... It wasnt fighting, it wasnt being knight, it was all about what he sacrificed for love. Satisfying end for us? No. For him? Certainly.

Just now beginning to read the books so looking forward to hearing the differences there. But on the show. He's without a doubt my favourite character. People demonize him but the only had he ever done was push Bran (and even that served a huge purpose). Everything else was in the name of love for this family and duty he swore on.

It is a tragedy that Jamie never received any appreciation for saving thousands of lives by killing the mad king. He did in some ways the most honorable thing, but yet people mock him by calling him a man without honor, oathbreaker and kingslayer. What a wonderful character, with a beautiful and heartbreaking peek into the man he was preceived to be and the man he truly was.

Great edit. But as far as this final season, I am so incredibly mad. They have butchered his character. He had the greatest redemption arc on the show and they stripped it away from him in the final moments.

I don’t think they stripped it away from him. No matter what he did, how he grew, how he changed, he always loved Cersei. He promised to fight for the living and he did, he promised Tyrion he would try to get Cersei to safety and he did try. I wasn’t at all shocked when he left brienne for cersei, that’s who he’s always been, he’s still a good man. He never stopped loving Cersei and the show never made us think he did. He just realized she was a bad person, but like Tyrion said, he always knew what she was and he loved her anyways. His character redemption arc wasn’t thrown away, they just showed us that even though he grew and redeemed himself, his love never changed.
