I went to see this at the theater when it came out & then went to see the sequel at the theater as well. I had the biggest crush on Ozone, like huge!! We lost Adolfo Quinones in 2020. Who remembers seeing Ozone & Turbo in Chaka Khan’s video for “I Feel For You”? Adolfo had a decent career as a dancer in a bunch of movies.

Loved this movie as a child in the 80s. My parents bought me and my sister the used VHS of Breakin' and Breakin' 2 from a local video rental store. These movies got me into the dance movie genre. You must do Breakin' 2 Electric Boogaloo, especially if you want more conflict. Glad you spotted Van Damm...wondered if you would. 😂

I still think we should settle our disputes with flashy street dancing duels. My Breakin' name is Froot Loops. I thought this movie was so fresh and rad when it came out. We saw it at the mall, and then went skating at Skate City afterwards. We had a severe outbreak of Crush Groovin' at the elementary school after it's release. Residual side effects include compulsive poping and locking. Breakdancing is an Olympic sport now, BTW, so bad call from Shooter McGavin.

Sadly I remember going to see this at the movie theater when I was like 7 years old! I remember it like it was yesterday! I even remember what I wore. I wore a white t shirt with a belt around it like the one Kelly had on at the beach. I stole it from my older sister. Of course you know surely know that there is an Electric Boogaloo 2 out there too. I can’t really remember what it was about but I feel like it was equally good/bad!
