When I read your comment, I sung in my head 'my date with the presidents daughter, my date with the presidents daughter' it was kind of a cheesy rock song. Please tell me I'm not totally making this up & this was actually a thing 😂

Britney Spears was on a cover in the 90s wearing a frosty pink lip and the magazine listed the products they used and I begged my mom to get it for me and I got *two* of them for Christmas. Doesn’t matter what year it is, Alexia’s frosted makeup and her blue polka dot outfit is the #1 most stylish look in my mind. Obsessed over this movie. I personally loved the 45 min staring at the end, because I pretended Katherine Heigl was my sister stating adoringly at me. I too had a seemingly perfect older sister who wanted nothing to do with me.

To get Alexia’s frosty lavender lip in the late 90’s, I would use a brown lipliner by Jane Cosmetics called Raisin and a limited edition silver lipstick by Revlon (that had a matching nail polish). For some reason that combo made a perfect match, and I gatekept that so hard in middle school. So if anyone went to middle school in Texas and your gym coach looked like Henry Winkler and there was a red headed chick who refused to tell you her frosty lavender lip color, now you know. 😂

Omg, I had Hayley’s exact bedroom furniture set. It was all white wicker and was from Pier 1. I still remember when my grandpa took me to the store to buy it, I almost cried because I was so happy. Especially because he even got me the matching vanity table and chair. I still have the dresser. At some point I spray painted it country blue and it’s in the back of my closet. I keep blankets and sheets in it, lol. It bears the battle wounds of several beloved pet cats.

Oh, by the way, Alexia FINALLY does a genuine laugh at the very end! Like after they switch back, and she giggles and tells Hailey she would help her keep neat in her fancy prom look. It’s not all high pitched like the other times 😆 Also, I think Hailey WANTED Alex’s body, but Once she gets it, she is still awkward in her physicality & hates being so scantily clad, since her typical wardrobe is massive tshirts & baggy pants.

Omg, I watched this movie about a week ago, after completely forgetting about it for decades. This used to be one of my favorites!! Yet somehow as an adult who was tipsy, depressed and covered in Doritos crumbs at 3am, it just didn’t have the same punch it did when I was a brace-faced, awkward 12 year old who sat in trees and pretended to be a bird during my free time. I admit, I was glued to it for the nostalgia and ridiculousness as an adult and about half way through, I thought about sending you the title of the movie because I knew you would cover it perfectly - but between the laughing/crying/back to laughing/back to crying and spilling wine on myself, I forgot to do so. It’s so weird seeing this pop up from you after thinking about it just a week prior. What are the damn odds. Maybe I drunkenly made a wish upon a star and said “please let Jamie cover this movie” in between contemplating how I ended up at a point in my life where crying and chewing Doritos at the same time was a common occurrence. That’s really the only logical explanation, at this point.
