The wheelchair is stupid on multiple levels. For one: We got magic that can literally help Khadgar either move differently or just restore all his strength to walk. And second: Conjuring and sustaining a magical wheelchair takes energy that Khadgar shouldnt have if he was so weak that he cannot even walk. Oh, yeah, and the whole Dalaran stuff. Its so odd to see everyone being so whiny about Dalaran when the city has been destroyed three times already, two of which Jaina and Khadgar did see themselves. Oh yeah, and funfact: Jaina is approaching 50 years of age. Slowly but surely.

Well, perhaps, but the wheelchair was created by Archmage Modera, not Khadgar. Modera can't, or more to the point, shouldn't be following him everywhere and using her magic to make Khadgar move. If she can create a device Khadgar can basically float around on, then so be it. Whiny about the loss of Dalaran?? I hope you never lose everything in a fire or something of that nature, but if you do, let us all know how it feels losing your home and everything in it. the acting may not be great, but the point still stands. And I'm not surprised Jaina is almost 50. Honestly, mages usually do not spend the time cultivating personal relationships and making offspring. The pursuit of power and/or knowledge outweighs the creation of a living legacy.

@@mr.e1026 Its not just like that there is no magic around that doesnt allow Khadgar to be perfectly normal after some small spells or anything like that. The whole wheelchair-part is purely performative. And yes, whiny about the loss of Dalaran. Khadgar was there when Dalaran was attacked and occupied by the orcs during the second war. Jaina was there when Dalaran was utterly destroyed in the third war. Both of them went through the worst Azeroth could throw at them, beginning with dragons up to literal worlds exploding around them (Like Khadgar) or the kingdom you lived in falling apart, being slaughtered and turning undead by your former boyfriend who became a tool for the enemy. Being all "I'm crying" because the flying city you called home got destroyed since its literally a flying target practice for everyone to shoot down is wack given the context of the stuff they got through previously. The characters act in a way as if they havent lost anything previously, as if they are fresh and young blood thrown into the harshness of the world and not like veterans who have literally gone through hell and beyond and still live. They could cry about so many things. Even have mental breakdowns etc. But having those in regards to Dalaran, a city they have rebuild with the intent purpose to be a mobile neutral basis for military operations all over the world is kinda.. eh, poor choice of the writers to make them break down -for that-. And her age isnt an issue, far from it actually. Its just a small funfact that might give even more fun into the previous statements. However I do disagree with the statement of "mages dont spend time cultivating relationships and making offspring". They absolutely do. Dalaran wouldnt have existed for long to begin with if that wasnt the case since canonically Dalaran was exclusive. Children in Dalaran were taught early on in magic but if you, as non-dalaranian person, wanted to be taught in Dalaran, you had to be an exceptional prospect. That goes for humans, at least, as the elves of quel'thalas had an easier time due to the mutual respect in regards to magic. If a place doesnt have enough offspring, around 2 for each couple, the society will inevitably collapse. Especially an isolationist society as Dalaran who had very strong boundaries towards "outsiders", especially the magically inclined kind.

I don't play WoW, I'm glad I don't, I still enjoy some ways they've gone with the story, it isn't all perfect. But I just gotta say, why the fck did they give Khadgar a boring ass wheelchair, of all the damn things they could've given him. Why just a regular ass wheelchair, it's so immersive breaking, since he's literally a one man army, and doesn't make his own stylized and versatile thing to sit on. Could've been a magical animal, maybe a construction that looked like something from Dalaran, or just a floating hanging chair thing from Suramar. I am so glad I don’t pay these amateurs any money, a magical wheelchair? Wtf? Either make an actual wheelchair and make it part of the story, that somehow he’s been afflicted with something that not only sealed his own magic but also makes it impossible for anyone else to use magic to help him walk, or make him use his own magic to just walk. It’s an absolute brain rot trait to want to force characters in fiction to be wheelchair bound when it makes zero sense in the universe they are in, there are so many different kinds of magic in WoW that could help heal a broken body if you sought them out, especially if you’re one as powerful and uncorrupted by fel-magic as Khadgar. If we were talking about some random citizen in Stormwind or something like that, maybe I could be more tolerant of it because they may not have the connections or means to seek out druids, shamans or powerful clerics, but Khadgar is a friend of Thrall, Malfurian, Velen and Yrel, 4 leaders of the respective schools of magic that can restore the body, so why on earth would he just accept being wheelchair bound? It makes no sense.

I'm unsatisfied with how they resolved things between Aethas and Jaina. Yeah she suffered horrible losses at the hands of the Horde, but what she did in Dalaran, enabling the deliberate and indiscriminate persecution and killing of a group of people... and now we all act like it never happened cause she had a sad life and sUrELy regrets it. Great. Great writing. Great job, blizzard. Great way of resolving an injustice that was commited against the most played race. The players will love you for this. This and all the other great things you did to the Kirin Tor this xpac. Hot take: This was a terribly disappointing questline to further along the kirin tor's story. It was supposed to be sad and it was at the BEGINNING when you were dealing with Aethas and his emotions, and he's an interesting character that we haven't seen a whole lot of and he's been around forever so it's nice to get to know him more, but then halfway through it's the Jaina show ONCE AGAIN. I am SO SICK OF JAINA. She is not a well written character. She is in EVERYTHING. EVERY story EVERY plot EVERY event and now she's going to be the leader of the Kirin Tor on top of every other title she holds, can't wait for her to become Guardian in 2 expansions when they kill khadgar for real. Called it here btw. There were SO MANY MAGES IN DALARAN THAT HAD ACTUAL DEPTH THAT COULD HAVE BEEN EXPLORED. They didn't even mention anyone on the council of six, who we presume all died right? Idk I guess we're just left to assume a couple of those boats were characters that we have seen for literally over a decade with zero mention of even thier names. I was so excited for this. They made you wait 21 days for 15 min of questing and more Jaina (yay jaina, everyone likes her?). Also what's with the whole keeping the Kirin tor active but they just aren't going to involve themselves with the world? It's a collection of the most powerful mages in Azeroth and now they're just going to be retired researchers I guess. That to me is a harder fall than losing Dalaran in the first place. Sorry, this comes from a place of following everything Kirin Tor. I have a Kirin Tor tattoo, I play 3 mages. I do not feel like this was good.

Then there was her Kul'tiras development, which looked good on the outside, but if you take a closer look, you just see how they scrapped everything they were building since wc3, redeemed all her misdeeds they were actually trying to show before, and just decided to turn her into perfect protagonist being. I never liked her personality, but before bfa, i liked her as character...

How much of that first cinematic dialog was written with ChatGPT? These stories go no where, the dialog is just circular 'feelings' and 'we need to do better.' Dalaran getting knocked out of the sky twice isn't an indictment on the failures of the Kirin Tor, it's a recognition that they're always putting themselves on the line at every frontier. They take losses as they risk their organization at every big bad scenario. Now we have Gallywix which is supposed to be some criticism of capitalism, I'm sure. Why can't we all be shape-changing elvish trolls and live in underground wakanda? I can't believe people get a paycheck for this stuff.
