As an assassin, avoiding combat with a stronger opponent, taking your time to come back later with a better strategy is good enough (which he did when Pitou attacked them and it was the right choice), especially bc a big part of assassination work is sneaky business and Killua's dad and bro taught him accordingly to their profession... but as a hunter there are extreme circumstances, fights you can't avoid, situations where you probably won't have the luxury to fall back and regroup ...so in the case where you can't run, having that mentality is a big weakness, if not for yourself (bc you'll think of your own safety first) it'll be for the companions you'll left behind... SPOILER Obviously even Killua himself didn't know about Illumi's needle so it's not his fault but it's still true

I think it's interesting when Bisky says that killua gives up too easily because I think it was exactly that instinct that saved them from Neferpitou

Its a good instinct in lots of situations like the Pitou but it can also cloud your judgement and make you unreliable in battle

It doesn't matter how someone approaches battle, experience will always make someone better and give more insight on how they should approach a situation. Like Carson said before though, Gon is more creative/better at improvising, where as Killua is better at making an efficient plan using his vast knowledge about the world and intellect. Both options are good and will grow stronger via experience.

I love how Carson just keeps learning Japanese while watching which imo is a very important part of learning a language. This is how most non-native English speakers learned English and also how I'm learning Japanese. Alongside studying of course but a big factor is immersing yourself in the culture, songs, history, news, etc. It really makes a difference plus giving you vocabulary that doesn't evaporate a couple days later.
