I finally completed Jak 3 100% for the first time last week. It took me 15 years. You did it in 4 hours. You’re an absolute legend.

I got a theory that the kind of people who enjoy watching speedrunners do these super long runs are mostly younger brothers who had to sit and watch their siblings play games back in the day. I remember watching jak 3 and being so impressed, it was a hard game back then haha

Such an interesting talk for the first like 20 minutes or so of the run. I've really struggled with self deprecation and general lack of confidence my whole life and it keeps me from doing anything but I've been really wanting to give it my all to overcome it. Hearing stuff like this really help with that and inspire me even further
@rishyfishy87993 жыл бұрын
Dude honestly thank you so much. I didn’t realise that constantly jumping and floating with the leaper would make you go faster in that first race. After about 50 tries and finally just one try with that method. I finished it 😩

it doesnt lol, just helps you avoid bumping over stuff

Just so you know, how good someone is at a language has two main factors, an effort to learn, and the amount of exposure/practice you get when you are learning it. Rixer stated that "It just happened" and the main reason for that is that because everything was in English, he had to learn what the words meant. This usually occurs when you ask a parent or you search it up- or you pay attention in school. Just a combination of factors.

I know I'm late to the party, but congrats man! I love your YT content. I'll make sure to stop by your Twitch channel. By the way, I had to use debug mode for all the orbs on PS4. That first desert race bugged out on me.

Hey Rix. Amazing video and runs as always. Just finished Jak 3 100% and found something interesting. Not really sure if you know this or not, but when doing the mission where you go to the marauder's stronghold and fight them in their arena style base, there is a trick to getting into your vehicle before the 4 Marauder cars spawn and drive away. If you stand directly next to your vehicle before killing the last couple of marauders while spamming triangle, you should be able to get into your vehicle and control it while the cutscene is playing. You can not shoot any of your vehicle's guns for some reason, but you are freely able to drive your vehicle around. Not really sure if this is faster or not, but just thought I'd share this little trick with you in case you wanna give it a shot. Keep up the amazing work.

We actually already optimized the mission a little but but i had no idea bout the triangle press. It could be faster? I'll let the community know cause i'm not playing jak 3 actively right now

Kinda ew seeing people in chat saying comedy isnt being ruined by political correctness and then saying "maybe offensive just isnt funny" proving that comedy is, in fact, being ruined by political correctness (right at the start of the run btw). Dope run btw

Wut lol just chill, comedy can't be ruined by anything, it's not worth worrying about over stuff like global warming and millions of hungry people. That's where the focus of everyone should be over things like m&Ms, is it not?

Say what you want about dumb English, but if you wait for it weight seems to have a little more holding it down. Almost as if its heavier. However this imagery technique comes from Latin. I imagine at one point the only way to communicate was to sing, and alphabets are the first attempts at notation, and when communication became the necessary function, language was born. Spellings tell you more origins of words and what languages they come from to give you a better idea what inflection to use when speaking the word because inflections don't exist in English. We delineate inflections using combinations of vowels or vowels and consonants. Like Kn in English comes from Gn in the Greek which has a distinct tongue movement different than n on itself, using the whole tongue instead of just the tip. Inflections are left out in English mostly because they are unimportant to the point at hand. In Chinese, inflections are everything. The more languages you start to try and understand how they work the more you appreciate the simplicity of English in my opinion, as it manages to be unnecessarily (I hate spelling that word) complicated and beautifully simple at the same time. Almost like a song. But one we all sing because England took over the world.
