You can count Jak X as Jak 4. Or you can count it as Jak 3.5 You can even do the crazy thing and count Lost Frontier.

Well, it depends. If a future Jak game acknowledges TLF's existence, then it is the 4th proper game. If the developer chooses to retcon it, then it is #0.

That "percentage glitch" reminds me of what the first two Paper Mario games seem to do, with their weird progression, like if someone skips a few events within the chapter, the previous things they were supposed to do are already done, like doors opened and items placed.

I'm trying to see the game, when it's so small on the screen it's hard to make out most of the time, especially when I am not familiar with the game. I do like the idea of races, however the current execution could be better. I also have no idea how they would be able to do races differently.

What is all this talk about the animals?

The last game of every event is a metroid game (can't remember which one) where in the end you get to choose between saving and killing a bunch of animals. Normally speed runners kill the animals as it is simply faster, but a GDQ tradition is to allow donators to vote on whether to save or kill the animals as a sort of perk of donating. All of the votes are tallied up and when the time comes, the runner will end the game (and the event) in the way that had the most votes.

The event is going right now if you check twitch.tv. The charity for this one is Doctors Without Borders. It is always fun being able to point to GDQ events when people ask me what good will gaming ever do, so I'm glad you are tempted to donate to a good cause. Go help save those animals!
