I know this may seem random, but I think I just noticed a pattern with Insomniac Games and Naughty Dog. They always make a trilogy with their series, and fans always say that the third entry is the best in the series (R&C: Up Your Arsenal, Jak 3, Crash Bandicoot 3 Warped, Spyro Year of the Dragon, etc.) That's just what I think at least. :)

Jak and Daxter was such an integral part of my childhood. However, I haven't played the games in years. I'm thankful to have gotten a PS2 along with this trilogy and a slew of other great games recently. I fucking adore this series. But Jak 3 has to be the weakest of them all.

I can understand why Jak 3 is the weakest. Although its gameplay is far superior to Jak II, the story was kind of disappointing in some parts. For starters, I really did not like Keira being reduced to a minor character, considering she the face she was such an important character in The Precursor Legacy and Jak 2. I understand her original voice actress wasn't available at the time and they hired Tara Strong to replace her, I still felt that she should've played a more important role in the game.

+Michael Morningstar Really? I found Jak 3 focused WAY too hard on driving and combat over platforming and adventure. It felt like it was taking away from the thing that made the series so fun in the first place. Jak 2 still had a plethora of platforming, with new gunplay added in, and though it's still there in Jak 3, it's not as good or as plentiful. I honestly think Jak 2 is the best. It has the best levels and missions, and it's the longest of the trilogy, yet it never really drags on.

+Michael Morningstar I felt like Jak 2 had the least filler as well. It was rarely "Do this thing because reason". Everything had some sort of significance beyond just getting a weapon or armor. A lot of missions affect future missions, and everything felt like it really mattered. Unlike Jak 3, where it's "Do thing to continue with game" or "Do thing for upgrade". Jak 3 also had a LOT more gimmicks. Maybe TOO many more. Plus, no palace or tomb of Mar. Sad.
