Today, Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy hits its 20-year release anniversary. To celebrate, we're sharing this teaser for the then unreleased title. The date, May 17, 2001, was the day that we announced Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy to the world.

I can't believe this game has been a part of my life for 20 years this whole series has had such a big roll in my life. I've spent the last ten years re writing The Lost Frontier just because I can't let go of bad it is. I've been working on writing out the history of Jak's family tree started from Mar and ending at Jak's first born grandson (Fan fics are fun) I've been working on that for the last two years. I got the written language in the game to count as a 2ed language credit in high school. mostly because I didn't want to learn Spanish. Jak 3 is my favorite game of all time. I wanted to work for Naughty Dog. I wanted to be an animator. just because I love this series. I know every line from every game by heart. I love this story. for 20 years it has been the most Important in my life.

Just do what Insomniac does and alternate between mascot platformers and realistic cinematic games. It’s the best balance and prevents studio burnout.

While Naughty Dog are busy with other projects, I'd love to see Insomniac Games either develop a new Jak and Daxter game with the a similar style and feel like the original three games, or remaster/remake the original games.

He never worked on the original games, but did some work on Lost Frontier, and an official Jak 4, but the Jak 4 is still shelved because they knew it wouldn't go well with fans, and they recently said they wished they've continued the original style after Insomniac released their new Ratchet and Clank.

Kind of a broad statement to make. I wouldn't say we know this is a lack of capacity; I think they've proven that they're extremely capable of so much. I think we _can_ safely say it's at least mostly a lack of will. They could at least try. They just won't.

@@haidenjennings9439 They did try to bring Jak and Daxter back, but they didn't try to do so with whimsy and imagination. They just tried to make another Uncharted game with a Jak and Daxter skin. With their talent and technological skill, Naughty Dog could probably do incredible things with the franchise, or even something original, if they were just willing to take even just half a step back from realism and apply it to something more colourful and stylised. But they won't. They won't even try.
