Yes, in a background made of dark eco that gives a hint in what's to come. Who knew what was awaiting the duo at this time, the new powers, Kor, Praxis, Damas, Errol, the Precursors, the truth about Jak himself. The trilogy was simply wonderful.

What made this boss battle was the build-up to it. When you first got to the second hub world, it showed a giant boulder blocking the path to him that he threw, his roar in the distance, and the Hero Knight's story of how the thing brutally beat him in a battle and tells you not to mess with it. So the entire time you gather power cells, you only thought to yourself is the dread of fighting him since he was hyped up to be a powerhouse. Then when you get all power cells and get to him, you realize the hype wasn't exaggerated at all

I guess it's largely a matter of opinion - while I love The Precursory Legacy, Jak II is probably my favourite. Compelling plot and characters, fantastic mission based as well as still fairly prominent platforming gameplay.

They actually do take place in the future lul. And no the change wasn't really...necessary, although I think they kept what made the original so fun and amazing. The design in them is great, they had big stories and kept the first one relevant. The only problem I have with 2 is in the beginning you have to go back and forth through the hubworld a lot. And in 3 I don't think there was enough platforming. Unlike Shadow the hedgehog the guns are actually still fairly cartoony, especially in 3.

Naughty Dog ain't got the touch no mo', all the OGs from the Crash & Jak eras are gone except Evan Wells but obviously he's useless in regards to J&D apparently. Goin' off the Jak 4 concept art they had, it would've been a hot mess saturated with atrocious realism......but considering Neil Druckmann’s the one who came up with said concept & was the one who wrote the logic breaking story for The Lost Frontier, this is debatably for the best

They put weapons because more serious games were getting more popular. It had potential to be really stupid like shadow the hedgehog, but they did it well i think. 2 and 3 are just as great but in different ways. They're all platformers too.
