Jake Bobo was a very exciting rookie for the Seahawks in 2023. In this video, I look at his tape from this previous season and talk about what his role could be in 2024.
(Also I love the completely unprompted Bobo got some love in Grubbs introductory press conference so I think he has big plans for this guy)

I don't know what's you're talking about jake is a very good route runner. If there's any weakness in his game it is his speed.

They said that about Steve Largent too. He has no speed. But seemed to always be open running by someone. Run good routes in the NFL you'll get open.

If we need to cut Lockett for cap or if he just isn't the same player in 24, I'd love to see him move up to 3rd wr. Dude can run routes and has some hands.

I really do think that will be his role. The Seahawks used 3 TEs more than any other team in the league last year but I think in 2024 we will see more 1 TE and Bobo instead of that many TEs. Thanks for watching!

Nice presentation. I must point out (as if most people didn't already know or agree) that Waldron was not the best on play calling for Seattle. Their plays were vanilla at best and still predictable af. I'm hoping Grubb comes in and utilizes the Hawks offense to the max. jmcmillen19 said it best for uses with Bobo. If Lockette is willing to (or can) restructure his contract for one more year (before retirement as a Seahawk). Let Dissly retire or move on. Keep Fant & Parkinson. We'll make the playoffs for sure. The defense will be better with some releases, pickups, and returns (Nwosu). All I'm saying is SEAHAWKS!!!!!!!

I couldn't agree more. Waldron was frustrating and I feel like the Seahawks offense will be far more focused this year. Couldn't be more excited for what comes next. Thanks for watching!

Thanks the breakdown except I disagree with your assessment Bobo doesn’t get a lot of separation- His ability to run routes and get open was what both the coaches and players including Geno, DK and Tyler commented about it
@The_Legion_of_12s
@The_Legion_of_12s 5 ай бұрын
You're right that he has been praised for his separation ability. I should've said this in the video but I think that he is a pretty good separator for his size. I guess I was just comparing him to guys like Lockett who are elite at getting that separation in part because of his size. Thanks for watching!

I enjoyed the video. But you talk about amazing catches in the red zone, and retiring, or trading Lockett, no no no. Bobo will get his chance, but Tyler is a heavyweight!
@The_Legion_of_12s
@The_Legion_of_12s 3 ай бұрын
Yeah that is definitely not going to happen now that Lockett has reworked his contract. Which i am so happy about btw. He is easily in my top 3 favorite hawks of all time, so I 'm thrilled he is back. When I published this video, Lockett had a far bigger cap hit so cutting/trading him was a real possibility but I'm glad the hawks worked it out.

I don’t think WR is the right position for him, maybe TE? He’s a big dude, but slow as well. He can block and can catch and make plays, but we will have to see what Mike Macdonald does.
@The_Legion_of_12s
@The_Legion_of_12s 5 ай бұрын
I think he is a WR but will probably play some of the TE role for sure (think what the Rams do with Cooper Kupp). He can come inside and run block there for sure though. Thanks for watching!

The way he plays I think he should bulk up just a little bit and make the switch to TE. I can see him becoming like a Kelce style of player.
@The_Legion_of_12s
@The_Legion_of_12s 5 ай бұрын
I don't know if that is fully necessary because I would be worried that adding more weight would make his speed a true problem. If I had to bet, I'd say he formally stays at WR but the hawks will use him like they have been as a Fullback/TE/WR combo chess piece. But I totally agree that they should use him more in that role. Thanks for watching!

@The_Legion_of_12s
@The_Legion_of_12s 5 ай бұрын
I agree that he could definitely play the role of a TE often but idk if the hawks would feel it is necessary to make a formal position change. Even light TEs still weigh 30 lbs more than Bobo. But I agree that moving him inline like a tight end more would be a really cool way to use him. Thanks for watching!

Receiver 3? Over who? Maybe to replace Lockett but I don’t think he is good enough to be the #3 with the receiving core we have now. Not that he isn’t good enough to be a #3, just that with how good Lockett, dk, and jsn are, bobo isn’t better then any of them yet
@The_Legion_of_12s

You're totally right. I made this video before Lockett got restructured when it looked like he would get cut. For this year, at least, he will be WR4 and will move up in 2025 (when I now think Lockett will get cut).
