LOL, It was Dave's idea to take out the burst. The last time we did a video together I pulled out my '59 335 original dot marker. for him to try. A few weeks later he got a 335 ... fun to share toys.

Sweet guitar. I used to own a '61 strat. It was not stock. It had locking Kluson style tuners that only looked authentic from a distance. The pickups were actually a DiMarzio Shockwave Active system, installed, like the tuners, by the previous owner. It sounded great, even unplugged. A guitar that old---and I got it in 1988---is just going to have a je ne sais quois that can only come from natural aging. I wish I still had that guitar. If I did, I'd load it with an Area loaded pickguard.

Bucket list guitar is some sort of 50s spec Les Paul with a nice top and some DiMarzio PAFs!! Maybe a Super Distortion in the bridge or maybe even a dual set :)

@LarryDiMarzio I agree. When people buy A certain guitar to sound like a star. But they don't. I remember Joe Bonamassa at the Albert Hall. He had Clapton coming on with him and he was eager to see what gear he had he just had a Strat and Fender amp. Nothing special at all it's in the hands.

Bit of trivia that I’m not sure Larry has shared: but he and Gene Simmons of Kiss wen to high school together (I think) and were friends. In fact, Gene used some of !Larry’s earliest pickups.
