I grew up 3 houses down from this kid in Osprey, Fl and taught Jake a few tricks and I gave him his first flat bar. He was super new to skating then and could only like Ollie and 180 and stuff and id been skating for years. Jake was a little kid back then so I was a lot older than he was so when me and my friends were out skating we'd swing by his house since it was a stones throw away and show him a few things. He was probably like 8 or 10 maybe and me and my friends were like 16 or 17. He's way better now than I ever was though. Super happy for him that he stuck with it and got good enough to go into the Olympics.
