The age card doesn’t make sense to me when you’re talking about a former professional boxer of top caliber against an amateur YOUNG boxer with only 10 fights of experience. Tyson isn’t a normal older boxer. It’s like saying any average young NBA player should be better than LeBron because LeBron is 40 years old. No! LeBron was way ahead of players his age when he was in his prime, so it is going to take a lot of deteriorating before the average 20 year old NBA player is better, faster, and more athletic than LeBron. Extend this same thinking to Jake Paul v. Tyson. It’s that simple. If we were talking about a 27 year old professional heavyweight boxer, then the age difference would be more of a factor.

Right there was a reason everyone was at Tyson fights and he had massive pressers and he also had plenty of open workouts in his career. It was only after cus died that he quit with the open workouts for a long time and that was due to him not having the discipline and work ethic because he was on party mode surrounded by yes men fighting off instinct and god given talent and diminishing skills. He was still more than the majority of the world could handle even at his worst too. Then I’m not sure there was ever more press than Mike vs Lennox Lewis either.

@handstwister3 сағат бұрын
@ Well of course it wasn’t an all at once overnight change but by all accounts it was a steady and gradual deal where no one could keep mikes ego in check and he became more and more difficult by the fight to train. Teddy Atlas had run ins with him young while working as Cus’s assistant and said the only person Tyson would listen to was Cus. Then we all know about the incident with his 12 year old sister in law and Mike. Then Kevin Rooney said Mike Respected no one after cus and did what Mike wanted when Mike wanted to do it as early as 1987. Mike stated publicly in 1988 while married to Robin givens that trainers were paid cheerleaders and he had no respect for them. Kevin trained Mike for over 2 years unpaid and he was constantly threatened with being replaced anytime he said something Mike didn’t like. Then when Mike brought in James Jacob’s as his new manager it was a daily threat until they parted ways in 1988 after Promoter Don King Supposedly insisted that Mike fire his entire coaching staff. The only person that was a hold over was Jay Bright who then went on to train him and from that point on Mike Changed trainers like we change underwear. All of them said they had no control Mike had an ego that was impossible to temper and that he only wanted yes men around him. There were multiple claims of a lack of work ethic, and loss of priorities to the point where women drugs and booze along with mikes hanger of friends all took priority over and real training regiments. After Bright was unceremoniously let go there were trainers like Snowell, Giachetti, Brooks Fennich, Snowell, Freddy Roach even came on board in the early 2000’s when Mike lost to Lennox Lewis and he lasted exactly 2 fights. He was there for Etienne, for the I broke my back Spinal fight when Tyson was being interviewed by Jim Grey and then the Danny Williams fight. Freddie said Mike disappeared for several days at a time during the camps with no word on where he was or when he would be back. This was common type behavior by Mike from the time he fought Marco Frazier until the end of his career according to all of his trainers and they all said Don King had more sway over Mike than anyone and even they butted heads regularly. Jeff Fenech was listed as Mikes trainer for the Danny McBride fight but said Mike would show up when he wanted and train when he wanted and it showed when he quit on his stool. He was a shot fighter and when asked if it was a possibility that Mike would make a comeback he didn’t even dignify the question with an answer. This wasn’t something that just happened out of the Blue in the Douglas fight it was a long time in the making because Mike respected no one and his ego ate him alive. He couldn’t help it though he was a young super rich man who could get anything he wanted after starting from the bottom of the bottom cus was the only one Tyson looked up to as a male role model with love and respect aside from a childhood hero in Mohammed Ali. Everyone else be dammed Mike was gonna do what Mike was gonna do. Do you even remember his first car crash in 1988 when he threatened to kill himslef? He himself said he was an alcoholic and addicted who couldn’t handle the pressure of boxing and a failing marriage at the time. Kevin Rooney was his trainer at the time After cus had passed away earlier and he had Teddy fired by Cus. That’s how fast the decline really happened it just took a few fights to show the results. Mike was an absolute mess by 88 which was what 3 years after cus died.

Like Tyson said, he "already answered all these questions and said what he needed to say". Tyson is giving JP a life lesson on how not to get distracted the night before a fight. Lol. Mike is crazy, what if he starts losing and just decides to bite Jake's ear off?

Would be amazing to see
@pauldalessandro439010 сағат бұрын
Mike did that because Holyfield was fighting dirty and frustrated him. Jake isn’t capable of fighting on that level. Even if he were to catch him it would be a sloppy, lucky hit.

By not saying anything, Mike Tyson is using an uno reverse on Jake's mind games!

I love how wade skipped over the bellew part as if bellew doesn’t share the same sentiments of everyone. The guy is a grandfather.

Why have I got this feeling that Jake is gonna enter the ring like Apollo creed with the top hat 😂smash him champ

Congrats to Wade to getting here. It's been a long journey & you absolutely deserve it💪. Look, I'm intrigued yes I know this fight really shouldn't be happening but it's a big fight feel regardless of the whole thing. After all this is just entertainment nothing more, it's not like boxing hasn't done things like this over the decades.

Jake is looking for a reaction but Mike isn’t giving him what he wants.

How in the hell could you possible say this is the biggest event in combat history? Are you kidding me, appently you dont know too much about that history, what about the Rumble in the Jungle, Frazier vs Ali, Sugar Ray vs Tommy Hearns, Holyfield vs Tyson, Floyd Mayweather Jr vs. Manny Pacquiao, and this list goes on, this fight isnt even in the top 50 of all time fights. I didnt even include the days of Rocky Marciano or Jack dempsey. The only reason this has any traction is because of Tyson, PERIOD!

ffrom what I remember growing up watching Mike Tyson for the most part, Mike always did his talking in the ring. the engagements during PC. were always limited.
