Part 9: • Jake The Snake on TMZ ...
Part 1: • Jake 'The Snake' Rober...
--------
In this clip, Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts discussed the feeling of “making it back” after being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. However, Jake The Snake said he’d advise people not to pursue a professional wrestling career due to the demanding nature of the schedule and the physical toll it takes on the body. He also explained why he isn’t bothered by anyone calling pro wrestling fake and how Vince McMahon’s track record with regard to workplace affairs is well-known amongst the wrestling roster.

Never having being an addict myself but being directly affected by it via a parent god rest their soul, I will say there’s something so pure about a person who survives the mental burden of self destruction you see a lot of folks who live so called “prosperous” lives and realize that lots of them are actually terrible human beings and typify evil in the strongest sense, also many of them are feeding other types of severely negligent addictions that aren’t necessarily substance related. The peace that comes with recovery or just living in general is the closest thing to Devine Order in my opinion…great interview

Honestly, watching this almost brought me to tears. I can recall when I was 9 years old I said think this was the worst man because he injured Ricky the dragon steamboat. But within the same dislike for this man, I had great admiration for during those times, it was taboo to root for the bad. But he was a bad guy that I love to hate. But I know even though I was against him being, I thought this guy was amazingly cool. The DDT was a very famous move back in the days and even in the ghettos LOL yes we used to wrestle in the hood and the DDT was the preferred method of a finisher. However, it's all script. But it bothers me so much to know how much of an addiction that he had and how many demons he had to fight. I can recall when he came to my hometown in Stamford Connecticut, I had just missed him but he came to my hood and he was asking for cocaine. This was according to my cousin and friend. He came up to them asking for some dope. This was in the year of 1997. Overall, Jake Robert is a phenomenal human being. And you can see that he is witnessing his life dwindling away little by little. But he remains a strong soldier in the meantime. Respect Jake Roberts!!!

I was always a fan of Jake. I used to love watching the matches with Ricky Steamboat. I knew at that time that the match results were predetermined and the hostilities were mostly for show. Even knowing that I hated his character as I was a major Steamboat supporter but I admired what he was doing, because he was able to draw that emotion even though I knew the cause was not real. I am so glad that he has his life on track and wish him nothing but the best. As an aside the way he describes the wrestling life and its effect on family is eerily similar to Michael Franzese describing the life of a mafioso and its effect on his family. Jake, I admire for his recovery, Michael I don't trust his.
