One of the greatest talkers of all time. And he never needed to shout to get his point across or swear to get shock value. The Edgar Allen Poe of his time.

He's second to none on the mic. A great in-ring psychologist.

Drunk or sober Jake the Snake Roberts could win you over. Jim Ross always said its not so much your ability to wrestle as it is your ability to talk or be on the mic. Jake Roberts can/could do the mic like nobody's business and he backed that up with raw, real wrestling talent/in-ring ability. I'm glad that he and Scott Hall got with DDP, got clean and sober and are getting healthier by the day. Here's hoping that we have Jake the Snake around for a long, long time to come. His wit, his wisdom and his insight on a life lived (drunk and sober) would be an invaluable asset to any young and up and coming talent in professional wrestling today. I wish him well....

Jake ORberts could talk about carpet samples and make it seem interesting and intense. An articulate talker who could paint a picture with words whilst all other wrestlers had to resort to shouting, profnaity and volume. A truly clever artist who was ALMOST as good in the ring as he was on the mic. Yes the rock may be funnier. Yes stone cold may have more attitude. To scare someone and to keep the opponent looking respected yet still about to be beat? No contest.

You click once on Jake The snake's promos but they make you wanna play them again & again in endless cycles not only to experience that awe-inspiring thrill once again but to also learn just a tiny little bit more of life's wisdom that is so cleverly disguised in his lovely deep & dark promos.

He was based in Atlanta at the time; had an offer from WCW that he was delighted with and very much looking forward to a lengthy feud with Sting. Watts came in and ripped up the contract in front him as a fuck you and Jake said fuck you right back and never returned. I honestly think Roberts could have been the ultimate WCW villain that would have taken Sting to the next level. Sting's feuds with Flair and Vader were solid gold but that will always annoy me.
@TheLuscious10 жыл бұрын
I ranked Jake The Snake Roberts the 6th best wrestler ever on the mic. You can't write promos for a dark genius mind like that. So you just let magnificence like that talk. His promos were dark eerie psychological funny scary chilling. First guy to do promos who didn't need to scream and holler to make you believe. The man that made WWF fans boo Hulk Hogan. That's how over he was. It's time to put Jake in the Hall of Fame.

Jake the Snake Roberts was an intellectual villain in pro wrestling. The simple minded "fans" of today would have needed a dictionary (pre 1932 edition) and a thesaurus in order to go deep enough to comprehend the levels of this man's thoughts. I see a lot of people saying that Dean Ambrose (THE SHIELD) is one of the best heels of the modern WWE era. Well I say that there's a difference between a heel vs. a villain. Jake was a true Machiavellian villain. It'll be a LONG time before that returns

Hello my friend! Yes, unfortunately I am all too serious. Jack 'the Snake' Roberts was never hired by the WWF because he wanted too much money. It's one of his biggest regrets of his career. So much so that he has had it a goal to appear in this years Royal Rumble to fulfill this life-long dream.
@rawnga10 жыл бұрын
Hello again and thank you so much for your input! I will have to respectfully disagree with your assertion. I was actually roommates with Jake Rogers back in the 80's so I know all about his career during that time. He was terribly depressed for having missed his chance to work in the wwf. All he would do is sit around and watch reruns of Leave it to Beaver. I eventually had to kick him out because he never did the dishes.
