It starts with the first "Caged" lick in the A shape. 😉 Nice! I'll learn it!

Man I love these! I just learned your stinky G lick and look forward to learning this one. You're packing a lot of cool ideas in these licks, much appreciated- just wanted to say that!

Awesome lick! I created a version in E. Sounds cool there too. The first part of the D version is less awkward if you stay in the first position. You get the pull-off from the flat 5 (Ab) to G.

How important is the picking direction, in your opinion? I'm trying to copy your down strokes and up strokes, but it feels really unnatural to me. Then again, maybe that's why I'm so slow!

P.S. I transcribed it for anyone who is interested, if Jake gives permission to share it.

From my lessons with Jake, I've learned that pick strokes are very important - every one matters and getting them backwards is a hindrance to speed. But by your last name I doubt I know more than you.

@@LibbysBluegrassVideos Thanks! But I doubt that's true about how much you know. Jake's name caught my eye, which is what led me to check his work out. But unfortunately the name doesn't automatically bring with it abilities 😄 I've been learning a lot about picking styles and such lately, and I'd have to concur with your thoughts on it. I've been playing for 23 years and somehow have missed that crucial aspect. It's really held me back.

Cool lick. But even with your idea of the slow mode I still wouldn't be able to learn it. And I have been playing guitar since 1969, so imagine someone who's just starting. Please slow that down! Thanks for sharing.

@@Jwork11 Treat this as way to improve how you kindly offer free lessons on You Tube. I appreciate the fact that you took the time to do this, but if people are unable to grasp it because it goes by too fast, you've just waisted their time and your own.

Click on three dots in upper right, choose “playback speed” from drop down menu and set speed to 0.5x (Hope that helps)

@@TN-D18 thanks! I wasn't aware of the fact that I could slow this down. Much appreciated!
