One of my all time favourites! I'm supposed to be sleeping now but I'm so glad to check KZbin! It's actually a very painful song, the chorus is literally "let me cry" So powerful, emotional, raw and she is simply amazing, 5th place, best result of Albania so far ❤️ I'll never understand the hair though xD I also really love the fact that Albania is full of amazing singers, and Albanian is such a great language as well ❤️

We Albanians have an ancient tradition of vocal singing without instruments which is called iso polyphony, therefore instrumental music is often superfluous for us since it is the voice that acts as master and guide .. Our isopolyphony is protected by the unsco and is cultural heritage of humanity.

"Më lërni të qaj" (aka. the "child" note) translates to "let me cry" :) The title itself "Suus" translates to "hush", like in "hush, don't speak... or, don't make a noise and keep things to yourself and just go on with life" 😬 But, the chorus counterattacks the title by just asking to be "allowed to cry" and just express the sadness, desperation, etc. that one is feeling inside! So... yeah... just wanted to help and clear up what the "child" note was :) (also why there is so much "screaming", as according to some!) She did an AMAZING job and there is only a small number of singers worldwide that have the vocal range she does ❤

Before the live show the artists made their videos of the song. And Nishlas video….. to me…. was so much more aesthetic, simple …. and heartbreaking listening to the first time I saw it. And even though I didn’t knew the language, I kinda felt the story. Furthermore…. I think the singing (as studio versions often do) came out that bit more goosebumping than her live version. But anyway…. Wow!!!…. Just freaking W O W ! ! ! kzbin.info/www/bejne/rGrdeoNqe6ZgZ7s

The "child" note actually says "mër ni te qai" which translates as "let me cry". And cry she did... I think she still holds the record for the longest note ever sung in Eurovision. Or maybe Paula Seling from Romania broke the record in 2015. You will see for yourself when you get there.

Rona Nishliu is an Albanian from Kosovo. All of Albania has a multitude of singing talents, but Kosovo - and especially Mitrovica, the town she's from - are special. Ancient historians used to say that the Dardanians - the ancient Illyrian tribe Kosovo Albanians come from - were renowned fighters and musicians. Kosovo has never broken the tradition to this day 😊
@ankhefenra6 жыл бұрын
I think the reason Albania sends great vocalists is that their competition for choosing the representative is not purely focused on Eurovision, it's more like a bonus for the winner. That's also why the Albanian revamp is so infamous, most songs are not made with Eurovision in mind, so they have to be changed. For example, Eugent's song was 1.5 minures longer than allowed on Eurovision stage.

This names that you mentioned are shit compared the ones that are not known globally. They are commercial singers, not the smartest to brag with commercial singers. Those women beside their look dont have 1/10 (and being very generous here) of the talent compared to Irma Libohova for example. Known and famed doesnt mean the most talented.

What do Eurovision voters know about music anyway, right?
