This is a "to-the-point" video from an intrepid traveler sharing his life experience. Nicely done Jake and thanks for reminding people to NOT fly over national parks, sanctuaries, etc.

Howdy, Jake. Thank you for this well-laid-out and helpful video for traveling with drones. Yes, I follow all the suggestions and rules you spoke about. I use one additional item for all my batteries, battery-safe fire bags. It provides an extra layer of protection for the batteries and aircraft safety. Thank You!

Great tips Jake. The GPC and pelican case are truly the best. Lastly, who are you kidding? Don’t travel with your drone if you don’t have to? Ha! Good luck selling that to any drone pilot.

I just flew to Nashville with my wife for a job interview and they didn’t even ask about my drone(air2s), I brought it up and they said they just scan them like laptops and cameras. They don’t seem to even care unless it slows them down.
@JakeSloan2 жыл бұрын
Yeah if you travel with it right they really don’t care anymore. It’s only when then can’t see the individual components they want to see it for inspection.

Jake, really good advice. Recently I traveled to Mexico for pleasure and wanted to take my DJI Mini 2 just for personal use. Fortunately I looked at the rules and everything I sourced indicated it wasn’t allowed in Mexico. I am not 100% my assessment was accurate, but better safe than sorry. So I agree, do some research before you travel. Great video. Thanks…Ted

Great video. I might add that in some cases renting a drone close to the shoot location may save a lot of trouble if the job's budget allow.

I have a DJI mini 3 and the accessories including blades, batteries (under 100wh) and remote control. Some of those accesories contain metal parts which I think needs to be put in to checked luggage, would you bring a DJI mini 3 on board a plane with your carry on bag Jake?
@JakeSloan17 күн бұрын
I carry my drones on every time. I have never had an issue

Thanks much, Jake, very helpful and timely in light of an upcoming trip. Couple of questions: 1) have you tried to get that 26L Mindshift under the seat in front of you? 2) First time I ever heard of the wattage limitation, how do you figure that out between drone, camera, and computers? Thanks.
@JakeSloan2 жыл бұрын
The think tank does fit (barely) under the seat in front of me but I usually try and put it overhead. On the watt hour it’s per battery not total and every battery should have it listed somewhere on the battery.

Great video, Jake! Thanks for taking the time to knowledge share. I have a small favor in the form of a question, if you wouldn't mind. I am a 5 yr UAS remote pilot, heading on vacation to the UK and Ireland in April, then to Holland, Germany, Belgium, France and Italy in May. I will be flying a DJI mini 3 pro to make it a bit easier. All my flying will be recreational. So far I have gotten my IAA EASA training and UAS Operator Registration ,(Ireland and EU States), and my UK Flyer ID and Operator number for Britain and Scotland. With this limited information, can you see anything I might have missed? Can you recommend any websites that go deeper for foreign drone pilots? Thanks again!

I think you have it covered! be sure and check out the channel @Geeksvana as he is EU based and provides lots of information about flying over there
