That front port on the fuel pump should've gushed fuel out when popping off the fitting. Also that pump retainer ring was the easiest I've EVER seen come off!!!

@Jake Spence that's what I do. I buy bmw's that have issues and fix them. The last one I got done with was an X5. At some point in time, I'll get done with the e38 750. Really, all i really wanted on that was the v12. Just keep on fixing bmw's, and they will start to be easy for you.

From experience on N54, once the fans kick on super fast after initial start and the car is in limp mode (half engine sign), that’s usually the tell tell sign of bad HPFP. The N54 has had recall on HPFP (which I’m sure you know). Check the rail pressure with your device.

We've defintely got an issue with something high pressure related, the pressure is only reading at ~80psi, but it seems to run well. So it is getting enough pressure, but we're thinking the sensor may be bad. We're gonna swap it out for the next video 👍

@@jake_spence I think that’s too low Jake. I think it should be around 1500 psi on the High pressure side. Also, check what index injectors you have. The leaky injectors will also cause pressure to drop overall (and smoke and fuel smell upon cold start). The latest index should be 12+. But I’m sure you know all this. Good like buddy.

They are getting more popular now and with 6-700hp being easily attainable these days, how do we keep the power down effectively?
