It reminds me of the days of pushing back 737-200 for SWA. Damn those engines had a high pitch scream! Incredible!

@Guyadeen1 Airtran hasn't used the 727 in years, certainly no later than the early 2000s. They are exclusively 717 and 737, probably go pure 737 after Southwest comes in. Few if any of the major airlines use the 727 any more. In over 10 years of working at a major airport, I have only seen a handful of 727s ever come in and they've all been personal planes (rockstars, movie stars, executives) or charters or cargo. No scheduled airline service. My first plane ride was on a 727. I miss them

Always thought the 727-100s left a thick black smoke trail from JT8s behind at takeoff. Must just been a 1960s thing when smokers were in vogue.
