I had a Model 70 .375 H&H identical to yours. Wish I still had it. I now have a Weatherby.375 H&H. I just bought a Model 70 in the .338 Winchester Mag that was made in 1968. A beautiful rifle.

Hey I am not a gunsmith but I was a tool and die maker. I have been to Africa 14 trips. What is up with no rifle sling. I have had a rifle action in the mill to align bore the scope mounts. You can bend the barrel with one finger what it take to mover the bullet inches at 100 yards. You carrying the rifle on your shoulder by the barrel bends the barrel. Is it cool or something Not for me and I make shots from over 500 yards I want my barrel straight.
@angiepolinski25887 жыл бұрын
It's actually much faster to deploy a rifle from the traditional PH carry than a sling. It's used when hunting the Big Five primarily. And the rifles that are used are often magnums with Medium to thick profile barrels that are free floated, or full glass bedded, these will not flex under the stress of carrying it muzzle first. Just my .02 and mediocre understanding of the craft. Not trying to ruffle feathers.

It's the same with anti-hunters who says that we have an unfair advantage with technology, yet they also don't want to see hunters strangling animals to death
