This is one of my favorite videos. Every time I watch it, I always replay the shot at approx. 4:40. Don't think I ever saw a leg flop around quite like this one does. Amazed at how he can still run like that???

Are these a pest species that need culling? They seem like shooting cows standing in a paddock. How many do you need to shoot?
@isaal-magyari92032 жыл бұрын
No, cape buffalo is a big game species that is being responsibly managed for future generations. You notice how in the video ALL the animals he shoots are old bulls that are past there breeding and healthy prime, all are in decline in one way or another. they have had many years to sir calves and pass on their genes. you'll notice he never shoots young breeding bulls,cows or calves. You'll here him mention "daggaboys" these are the older bulls that can harvested without negatively affecting the herd, same animals that the lions and hyena would target. it's the culling of the older and weak animals that strengthens the general population. If It was a pest species aka invasive species you wouldn't attempt to deal with the problem by hunting as animals learn they are being hunted ,get smart and avoid people amking them harder to hunt, trapping and poison is the usual method for control or eradication of pest or invasive species like cats,rats,dogs and pigs cape buffalo have healthy populations and there is a sustainable hunt thanks to the conservation efforts of hunters like J Alain Smith,. Remember the entire US national park system was set up for conservation by an avid hunter, Theodore Rosevelt and was the model for many other nations to follow. Hunter make the best conservationist as they love nature and spend many ours observing and studying it.

We really need to be doing what they are doing over there in Africa down here in Australia where the Buff are a huge problem. Opening them up to professional shooters would be a great start at eradicating their numbers which are, simply put, out of control. Ditto with camels, donkeys and pigs which are also a huge problem in some areas. All of the species that I have mentioned were introduced into our country along with the settlers over two hundred years ago.

If might be a bit conservative when it comes to clothing, but if youre white and hunting in africa you have to wear shorts of the same length as the shorts of a soldier from the Rhodesian bush war to look badass.

On edit, I'll add....I built a custom .375 Weatherby on a P17 action with an A-Square stock and a Douglas 30" barrel....it chrono's a 300gr .375 at 2885 ft/s and almost 5600 ft-lbs. My dream is to smoke a griz and a cape buff with it. I really want to take a daga boy with it....and BBQ him :)
