Unlikely one of those dishes is only 590 calories. The pasta and sauce alone are probably 400 calories. 4 ounces of steak without butter is 300 calories. It just doesn't add up. I'd conservatively guess it's more like 800 - 900 calories. Still not that bad, but not what he claimed.

@@damiradoncic a cup of cooked rice is usually perfect for me. That + 8oz of chicken breast is around 500-600 give or take with 60-70g of protein off the top of my head. Also add some vegetables you’re looking at 600 right there. So if that is 600 how are all of these guys meals below that with all of the extra stuff added on top? The common sense rule is to remember every gram of protein is 4 calories no matter what. It never adds up. Edit: 10oz I made a mistake. Traditional Alfredo is t that high in calories and is actually a fairly healthy sauce. It’s basically melted cheese with no carbs. The fettuccine on the other hand is a whole other story. It’s loaded with carbs and calories and is the most unhealthy part of the whole meal. The meat is the healthiest part. Fatty beef is king of true health foods. I’d like to add to the comments that for a lot of people, calories aren’t the issue. In fact, if anything, calories are often a red herring when considering the healthiness and nutritional value of food. What most will need to consider is rather the fats, carbs, and proteins. For someone like me who has Pcos and has to really watch my carbs, a bag of gummy bears is usually super low in calories and so may seem “healthy” based on that alone. However that means nothing to me because one serving has 25+ grams of carbs. And for a pasta like Alfredo that’s going to be loaded with fatty and/or sugary ingredients to get that creamy sauce, calling it healthy in any way due to just carbs and protein is fairly misleading
@mmmmmmollyАй бұрын

To get the protein to 65g, you'd have to divide this into 4 meals, at which point the calories shoot to 900, the carbs jump to 105g and the fat jumps to 28g. Yeah, not the best cut of steak. I prefer NY Strip. Ribeye is good too.

Just a tip, add the garlic after cooking the onions for fiveish minutes. The garlic cooks way faster than the onion, so when added together either the garlic is burned or the onions aren't cooked well enough. Nonetheless an amazing recipe, appreciate it
