I believe when the Delhi Katra expressway, Jalandhar Hoshiarpur Highway and Jalandhar ring road are operational, Kartarpur, Phagwara and Adampur will serve as major satellite towns to Jalandhar. Main roles for each town Adampur: Airport will server people of the region including Jalandhar Kartarpur: possible for industrial growth because it crosses NH3 and Delhi Katra expresway Kapurthala: Industrial growth and possible real estate boom along the Jalandhar- Kapurthala highway Phagwara: already booming with fresh real estate projects In the future, it would be great if all these towns get fully integrated with Jalandhar with optimal transport such as railway, Metro rail and frequent bus services. Moreover, witnessing the condition of the NH44 from Jalandhar Bypass till Phagwara, I wish they could redesign this road in the future because many spots on this highway are not very safe because of bad flyover designs and being 2 lanes, exit and entry points are very bad at many places. Design it as such that anyone can drive at 100 km/h.

Actually the highway is far better from Ludhiana to Delhi but Jalandhar bypass from Hoshiarpur Chowk till Chaheru bridge needs proper new planning. No proper planned access on highway from service road is there. They really have a good space as the road is really wide but that spaces is not being utilised. Moreover, there are many encroachments on the highway in this section and another one is at Phillaur but that’s is very minor. They are improving Ludhiana bypass I hope NHAI will improve Jalandhar’s NH 44 part too

Other than that, Jalandhar needs a proper airport road and of course Jalandhar will have a huge incline in development after the construction of 6 lane ring road and the upcoming expressway.

Looking at the heavy traffic and car sales boom in India, this Highway won't be able to sustain the traffic in 5 years from now. Government needs to plan asap on improving this highway.

Actually they are launching Delhi Katra expressway which will eventually decrease traffic on this highway. Lately, it can be observed that this highway stretch needs a proper repair and renovation, the road needs to be built, green belt is needed because it was constructed a long time back but didn’t had a proper renovation till date.
