Finally the carrier single Slice is out from the album of the same title from Five For Fighting. I really love this song same way as Chances. Hope you like it!
Please support John Ondrasik! Buy his album, Slice! This is a great album btw. Don't forget your comments! Thanks.

never heard of five for fighting and this song make’s absolutely zero sense it’s just a bunch of words combined in a confusing way with no meaning, “we were more than just a slice of american pie” that’s so stupid 😂 and cringe i only looked up that lyric on google cuz i hear it playing at the grocery store and the lyric is so stupid i just had to see who sang it

+Japhet Bisheko This is not racist at all. The slices represent periods of time within America, not separate countries. When he says "How can you be as nice as me, you're not from the same slice as me", he is REALIZING that people from all times can be as awesome as him, and his "slice" is no longer seen as special. Thus, he wants a song about a time when he and his peers were "more than just a slice of American pie"

This beautiful song is about my growing up. If you weren't part of this time, maybe it doesn't mean so much. This is truly the way people were, real is the word. We lived, by living! It feels like no one who isn't from this time can quite grasp it, or the feeling we have about it. Thank-you John, this means so much to me.

I was in High School in the San Francisco Bay Area 1969-1973. Music was about the musicians playing music. There weren't dancers, flashing lights, fireworks at the concerts, just the musicians. People were employed. The population of the U.S. was 207 million. Immigration was at low levels. The Vietnam War was in its final years. Don Mclean wrote the song "American Pie" in 1971.
