Eventually all of that GSW stigma would have gone away because winning does that and after this year, he could have balled out next year and they would have been so removed from the decision and with the losing record, that it wouldn't have matter anymore and I do feel if he had stayed after his comeback and injury, it would have transitioned to being his team, as with Steph alone people would have realized how much they need KD and once Steph got hurt again, it was bound to happen, the bay would have given KD his due. say what you want about KD's mental toughness or lack there of, but with how teams have adjusted their defensive strategy to the point where they just literally won't even guard inconsistent shooters, and instead rather sag off and gamble on a sub 45% shot attempt from a 2nd/3rd option scorer, in favor of doubling the star, crowding passing and driving lanes - it's just incredibly difficult for a single outside-scoring threat & superstar to do much of anything offensively. especially in the playoffs. stars still gonna get their numbers, ofc, but it's an uphill battle and maintaining efficiency is very difficult, demoralizing and exhausting, when you're up against this type of defensive scheme.

I've got to respectfully disagree. The way Russ plays, or played rather he's doing pretty well this year, seems like something Kobe would be upset with. Rushing shots, unnecessary turnovers, doing things that only he can do then 4 minutes later doing things that would get most players benched... Idk. Maybe it would've been different though

I literally listened to the entire interview yesterday which is about an hour plus minutes long and listening to this tells you how the media can simply take a piece of what someone says and run an entire narrative with it. Just exactly how KD said in the interview how the media likes to control how people think. He didn't throw shade at Russ. C'mon Jalen and Jacoby.
