Excellent video Jamahal. I've been saying this about Ariel for a while, but ever since he went at Schaub, he's been trying to relive that moment because the MMA community pretty much gave him the unanimous decision on that one, and his ego grew huge. Look at how many beefs he's had with fighters since. It's like he forgot what sport he covers though, there are guys in MMA that if not for fighting would be in jail, so if he isn't careful he's going to say something to the wrong dude and they will put hands on him. This is a very true assessment. I’ve noticed that as well, when Ariel and Schaub had there beef and Ariel won that one and got all kind of praise he started getting a little to brave with his interviews. The difference is though Schaub actually deserved it for legit lying on Ariel so Ariel was actually defending himself in that one. Most of the fighters doesn't have the highest of the iq's and its quite easy to be manipulated by someone like Ariel. That didn't happen with Hill though who i consider a very smart person both inside and outside the octagon. He immidiately called out Ariel for his bs with solid arguments. Im talking about the time where Ariel called all the fighters and tried to get a bad word out of them for the Dana White slapping his wife incident. He didn't do it because he cared for his wifes health, hell no. He was happy that it did happen and he would be happier if things were even worse and Dana's wife ended up in the hospital. All this so he can feel better about his own PERSONAL feud with Dana. I never liked Ariel, he is a disgusting human being. Overall, Chael was sticking to his guns, honest and backing his views with public data and first hand experience in the industry. Ariel, on the other hand, wasn't playing straight and was dishonest by misrepresenting Chael the whole time, even inflating the ppv numbers. We can't say for sure who's right, but Ariel definitely is a weasle.

Chael was right that this was a long shot and a very risky move for Francis. In the end Francis bet on himself and came out with $10 million and for Ariel , that’s a win in his book. All he cared about. The bag and getting over on Dana. Shillwani was absolutely giddy greatly overstating the bonus and gloating about the numbers. “I can’t wait for the numbers to come out.” And when they did , it was shockingly bad. Tens of millions went to paying the fighters and the PPV bombed selling 70k. The Saudi’s may not care but that’s not a strategy many other companies would move with. People are banking on the next time factor yet again.

Chael was 100% right in this whole situation. Francis will now request way more money than he is worth. That ppv with fury sold 67 k worldwide hahahah. That's absolutely brutal. Ngannou just isn't a star like Francis thinks he is. These are just facts.

The only thing Chael got wrong is that he wouldn’t concede anything at all. The reality is that Francis’ stock did just go up significantly. Even if the first ppv did shit numbers, a Francis match in boxing going forward is going to be a much bigger event and Chael wouldn’t concede that. Outside of that, he was right

I view it differently. Chael had a narrative that he wanted to push on Ariel’s show, and Chael started calling him tough guy from the start. There is no way that the path that Francis took was dropping the bag. $10 mil one fight, not 4 fights, 1 fight with virtually no damage, trained by the Iron Mike Tyson, and now Francis is a ranked Heavyweight boxing contender, with at least twice the striking skills that he had before. Chael was clearly bullying him, he snapped back, which in the real world would have got him at minimum slapped up, but I can respect that he’d rather have been choked out by Chael than to allow him to control his show. I think that Ariel and the Bad Guy is a done deal forever, but the UFC has been a shameless company since the merger. But much respect Champ can’t wait to see you back… and the $10-20 million came from Ariel, but the source was Francis himself, and it made total logical sense… the pay was a minimum $10 mil and the PPV would be somewhere between another $1-10 million.

ariel started the show by baby spoon feeding him "crow", using pre-cut clips of chael to make him look like a fool, demanded he apologize multiple times, wouldn't let chael shift to a more positive narrative. I don't even like chael, and he lost parts of the debate.. but ariel is a scheming little rat and a backstabber. you don't treat your friends that way, period.

Chael dissed Francis a lot over the last couple of years, to the point that Francis damn near didn’t get the opportunity because of commentators like Chael. In all fairness they all but ended Francis’s career and if Dana and Rogan hadn’t pissed off Fury by saying Jones would kill him he wouldn’t have fought Francis. That’s the truth.

Chael wasn’t wrong to doubt Francis and Ariel tried to humiliate him for having a very popular opinion. You don’t have to expose your genitals to be humiliated buddy, having the biggest MMA journalist in the world that’s also supposed to be your friend try to tear you apart on a live broadcast is definitely humiliation and Ariel has a fetish for humiliating people. Chael has also dissed Francis because him and Francis have a very public dislike for each other and nearly came to blows before.
