My condolences to you and your family. This video is a great tribute to your grandfather! I’ve been to Jamaica a few times and I absolutely love it. I remember going to a small grocery store in Ochy, and the kid bagging up my groceries offering to walk them home for me. The people are as warm as the weather. I lived for those jerk stands! 👍🏽 Great content, great voiceover 👏🏽👏🏽

My condolences. My second to last trip to Jamaica was for the funeral of my grand mother in Clarendon. Yes, it was meeting family, food and music in the hills of Mocho for at least 2 days straight with even a Mento band playing throughout the night. Most of my family on both sides have left Jamaica (to USA, Canada, UK and me here in the Netherlands) , but at last count I had 32 first cousins. Finally, a big Whappen to your mother.

I laughed when I heard u talk about your grandfather womanizing and cousins we as Jamaicans have. You should also mention half brothers and sisters. I am Jamaican and my grandfather had 45 children in St Elizabeth parish. Jamaican families are stretched to England, Canada and the USA. Its unfortunate none of that brain power and revenue returns to JA and Jamaica remains a 3rd world country. I am happy Americans believe the commercials because we need the tourist $. Good Job, great presentation. That red snapper your mother was eating looked good.
@KeenanLambert1982 жыл бұрын
Thank you Samantha! Your grandfather WAS prolific! lawd? 45 must be a record DWL!!!! I was just talking to a friend of mine about brain drain and what thats done to the economic output of the islands (specifically JA)

Don't know about "bad man". Women were not as aquisitive then (property, or education) and were about support. If a man could provide a little for them, he could have access to their jewels. Then rural, usually meant an availability of many women in that situation....even in the church. Just changing times....and not (as you make it sound) necessarily, for the best. The chauvinism you think was present then,, has only given way to different ideas of existence, fueled by new distractions.....eg. Your grand pops did many women, you do many videos! I live on a small island, close to the scene of your raizal video, and I was born, and grew up in rural Jamaica of the 60s/70s. Here at present, things are still similar to that Jamaica.....maybe earlier? Native women grow carefree in youth, and maintain an independence concerning their associations. When they become mothers, the associations seem to tend toward financially supportive ones, rather than the earlier idylic, 'first love' type...... Enter grand dad !..... Another uncle for you!😂
