Beautiful plants. I use your recipe with shrimp callaloo but, can only find spinach. Will try this one.

This reminds me of the Indian dish chicken saag but I prefer your recipe. I like both calaloo and stewed chicken, combining them together is such a brilliant idea!😋

I did my version of Saag a while back.. check that video

Living in the South in the US, I don't really have access to that specific variety of leafy green you're using there, but we have collard, mustard, and turnip greens in abundance. Do you have any recommendation on which to use as a substitute green?
@caribbeanpot2 жыл бұрын
simple spinach will work.. cooks MUCH faster though Off the ones you mentioned, I'd quicker go with collard

Can I use spinach instead? From the UK so this isn’t an easily accessible ingredient over here :(

I think Jamaica sells it in can, so visit a Caribbean store and check for Jamaican callaloo

Jamaican Callaloo is the same as the Amaranth plant. The Amaranth grains come from the Amaranth plant(Callaloo leaf).
@NativeNomad10 Жыл бұрын
Not just the same as, its a type of Amaranth plant, there are different varieties
