Girl yes coming from a born and bred Jamaican you got it right with everything else and almost perfect with that rice and peas. I love your channel keep up the good work. NB. the reason your rice might be spicy is that we do not cut the pepper that goes into that pot it goes in whole and when stirring we try not to burst it to get flavour only.

If you haven’t had Jamaican oxtails, you’re not living life!! They are super delicious and then you put the oxtail gravy on the rice and peas!! Very expensive, however but definitely worth it!

@@Breanna_says01 That's true, however if you're being honest you'll admit the rice looked way too saggy and the oxtail needed to be cooked some more as it was still pink and it's too white. If you're going to make another country's traditional dish atleast use the right name and do it justice by doing it the way it's supposed to be done. If you're going to add a twist to it then it's no longer jamaican.

That's right a pressure cooker will get them done in record time. I started cooking mine that way about 20 years ago and haven't looked back. They are wonderful that way with the same amount of flavor!!!! Out

Nothing wrong with the way it’s cooked, just not “Jamaican” or at least recognisably so. Better to name dishes accurately because misrepresentation is frustrating. Be blessed. 😊

We love Jamaican food, I try make it a few times a week and try a new recipe each week. My 10 year old daughter is half Jamaican and can sit and eat spicy food like it's nothing. Goat curry with rice n peas and chicken wings are her favourite xx

I made oztails for the first time and yessss lawd. I allowed it to cook overnight and the deliciousness is out of this world. I didnt marinate because the meat is so dense that its pointless. I did soak in vinegar and water for 10 mins and boiles for 10 minutes to remove the impurities. Aftee that i seasoned the heck out of them amd and browned for 5 mins I removed and cooked the vegetables until they softened. I then addes the oxtails, red wine and a little beef broth. I slow cookes overnight and ate babyeeeee!
