JAMAICAN MAN MOVED FROM THE UK TO GHANA 34YEARS AGO AND BUILT HIS OWN HOME AND BUSINESS
Ghana, as the former Gold Coast, and Jamaica share historical links through the slave trade and forced Ashanti/Akan emigration to the Caribbean.
People speak about the similarities between Jamaica and Ghana all the time. There is a huge Jamaican population in Ghana and Nana Kwame happens to be one of them. He moved to Ghana in 1989 from the UK and has lived here ever since with his family. He has built his home here and set up a school as well as a restaurant, a boutique and an airbnb.
0:00 Intro
2:04 what inspired you to move to Ghana from the UK?
3:34 Why did you choose Ghana out of all the other African countries?
4:25 who did you move to Ghana with?
5:12 How was the transition into Ghana for you?
6:00 what kind of work did you do once you moved to Ghana?
9:01 what made you leave Jamaica for the UK initially?
10:34 Working in Ghana continued…
13:12 where did you live in Ghana?
16:02 What plans did you have for the land you acquired in Ghana?
18:33 what challenges did you face while building in Ghana?
19:38 what was the intent behind building in Ghana?
22:20 Have you been back to Jamaica since relocating to Ghana?
23:44 what advice will you give to people who want to move to Ghana from the diaspora?
25:46 Who gave you the name ‘Nana’?
29:44 Tour of Nana’s Ghana home and business

My name is Jasmine and I have relocated from Sydney Australia to Ghana in west Africa as of the year 2020.
My parents are of Ghanaian descent and so am I although I was born in Australia. Here on my channel, my goal is to give you a real glimpse into what it’s like to live in Ghana and other parts of Africa, from the food, to the culture, to the lifestyle and everything in between. My goal is to satisfy your curiosity about Ghana and other African countries.
My prayer is that these videos do just that for several African’s in the diaspora.
Follow your bliss because life is short, follow your bliss because human life has no intrinsic value, follow your bliss because everything happens for the greater good and follow your bliss because it has all happened before.

To see a fellow Jamaican thrive is a feeling like no other. Sooo proud of him!! Plus, he still has his authentic Jamaican accent and I love it, so refreshing. The cool cool hills of Mandeville, Jamaica- that's where I was born and raised. I NEED to visit Africa to experience the heaven that he speaks of. I hope we all win in this life🥰

Jasmine, thank you very much for this video! I met Nana and stayed in Legassi Gardens for 30 days in the apartment on the second floor, on the right side of the building. The double bedroom. It was beautiful! His only request was that I not take photos of his children. I think he had two daughters at the time. It was a truly blessed wonderful time. I intend to see him sometime when I return in March.

Nuff respect 👏🏽 to him for his humble nature, his intelligence, his brilliance and vision, his love of the land and nature, and the Wisdom to follow his “Soul’s calling”, and to make his dreams a reality and benefit for humankind! Impressive overall especially the vegetarian and plant-based and eco-friendly lifestyle! He is an inspiration and role-model to many! One love💜🙏🏽

Well don brother Nana on your achievements in going back to the mother land, and chose the region where my heart lies, beautiful Ghana. Enjoy everyday of your life with your families, Blessings. ❤
