Just gotta take a look at zen thumbnails 😂 Something similar happened to me in other sport I used to practice; I got the regional team uniform, and a 15yo kid, which was the top 1 in the region, made a strange face when I wore it. I obtained the uniform because I went with the regional paralympic team as an assistant coach. Our regional paralympic team won the national event. Just being there helping has been one of my biggest achievements, I put a lot of effort just to be there. It doesn't matter what others think, but actually what you did to obtain the "title". It's not the same as a Winner RLCs title or winning a gold medal, but participating in an important event and getting something for it, is something to be proud of because you actually worked hard for it. Musty is another perfect example, u know the story.

Top 128 teams means that the top 384 to 512 players are going to get the tag. Accounting for the fact that not every SSL and GC3 is going to compete in RLCS, and the randomness at that calibre of play, it means you're going to have GC1s and GC2s running around with this tag. That means the RLCS tag means little more than being able to reach low GC. RLCS is the pinnacle. It is the top players of the top players. It should be reserved to them and only them.

Making it to where you have to qualify for a regional seems fair. A lot of this games loop is having something to grind for. Other than that there’s SSL tags for tourneys and season rewards. I think there should be something for 2000+ MMR players as well. The more rare the item, the stronger the drive to achieve it

People seem to forget they used to give titles just for winning weeklies! Them giving out these titles is a step in the right direction. They should give titles for 3rd party tourneys like EWC for example

In my opinion the fact that the blue tag is so similar in color to the Pro tag is creating this entire problem , they could have come up with another color , although it is tough as they have used almost all of them , or at least make sure the Pro tag (top 16 or so ) stands out a lot. having a tag for top 128 is not a bad idea at all , i support it , it is cool.

It is literally some words under your name, who cares. Titles and cosmetics shouldn't be gate kept by elitism, players of all skill should have goals they can aim for with rewards to collect. There are more impressive titles players like Zen can try to get, there is no reason that there shouldn't be a title for top 128 etc. Congrats on the title, and remember Zen is not even an adult yet of course he is going to have a huge ego and feel like other people aren't worthy to share something he has. At the end of the day it is a video game, and everyone deserves to have nice things they can push to try and achieve, and none of it means anything just how well you play in the game matters in the end.

How is getting in the top 128 not something to be applauded and given a title? They have better titles for top 8 and winners etc as well, the top 128 deserve a title and almost none of us will ever achieve this "participation" trophy. He deserves to wear it proudly imo. And, yes all that matters is how well you play vs how well you played last month. We all have our goals we can climb and achieve, a new player who finally crosses from silver to gold should also be proud of where they have gotten to etc. Growth is growth and its a video game let the man have an award to mark his personal growth.

I think it the title should be given to top 32. In my opinion top 32 is where I consider the bubble pros (players who are closed to making it to those regionals). You could maybe argue this into top 64 if you consider that people can only sometimes make it into the top 32 (I still think it should be limited to top 32 though). I would still reserve the other lighter blue titles for the pros who do get amazing accomplishments, like making a major or making/winning the finals of a regional.

5:27 With around 2000 ssl players in ones as of right now, 2s has around 5000 and 3s has 400 due to no high mmr players playing it. Assuming a minimum of 1200 players getting this tag, NA and EU; not accounting for other regions, statics say more people who gain this tag than ssl in 3s. Assuming it gets exponential harder as MMR gets higher, I think 2000 mmr in either of the 3 modes will be harder than this title. So in conclusion an rlcs tag, signifying the highest level of professional play is easier to get than grinding to 2000 mrr, which is a feat that is very impressive of itself.

We played a GC2 team to get it. and right now SO MANY gc1s and 2s actually HAVE the title. If youre lucky with the seeding. YOU WILL GET THE TITLE, thats why it's bullshit. It's not only SSL's getting THE BLUE TITLE

In the PGA Tour, the top 125 players from last season get a PGA Tour card. So think of it as your pro card. 😂 I know it's not apples to apples but it's not easy to get a PGA tour card or RL title. Consider it as a sign of your accomplishment. Congrats! 🎉

I think they should have made the color slightly less visually appealing than the traditional blue tags. Maybe like a light grey or something. I do like the idea of exclusive good looking cosmetics available based on rank though, maybe there should be a special color if you get top in the world on the ladder and another special color if you win a major etc Maybe instead of colors they could do like styles/insignias to make it so harder to get titles objectively look cooler, rather than just colors which are largely up to preference

Maybe Zen could beg the devs for a color change on the RLCS Champion Tag or the ability to choose the color to make it extra special... you know using his big boy voice to make a change instead of complaining on Twitter about other people being awarded and appreciated for playing at what is STILL a very top level. I do feel like making top 128 eu na a custom blue tag is dumb IMO (and I'd be happy with) Top 128 (Grey) Challenger Top 16 (Dark Blue) Contender 2nd (Blue) Finalist 1st (Blue) Champion This solves the problem of not giving tags to players who make top 16 (which was a problem before) and gives credit to prize winning players.
