It's funny how in some Caribbean countries this is called callaloo and in others it's called bhaji. In my country the West Indians call this bhaji, the Creoles and the rest of the country call it "klaroong" and it comes in a couple of varieties. Callaloo is a totally different plant in my country. In my country that's the plant with the big green heart shaped leaves ;) In my country we actually pick the leaves off of this vegetable that you're using instead of chopping it. Thanks for sharing ;)

My parents always prepared this for me, I never had to prepare it for myself until I got a bunch from a friend today. Very helpful!! Thanks soo much for this video. :-)

Callaloo,....is this an herb that grows wild? It looks kind of similar to wild amaranth, yet there are other wild greens found here in Mexico. IRIE method of washing the green Irie Mon, thumbs up, thanks for sharing and greetings from Mexico. :)

I needed this. I just picked some up from the store and I'm making it for the first time. Thanks :) I also don't use a sharp knife because I would probably cut myself. The knife is sharp enough.

@keeganmaraj I saw the difference in the spelling on the internet, for I am doing a breakfast cookbook called: JAMAICAN BREAKFASTS. I once worked for a packaging company (JPI). I was the Print Services Coordinator. We spelled it Callaloo in Jamaica. Why I do not know. If anyone know please give us knowledge.. I wonder how the English people spell it, because we follow the English way of doing things.

Too much salt kills nutrients. Washing like clothes is too excessive. I wash by soaking in a lot of water with a pinch of vinegar in the water a few times. Dry. Peal stalks, if necessary. Cut up in small pieces.
