Is there proof to this? Like film footage that shows him there everyday? 🤔. Also Ziggy is NOT his dad, and isn't his dad's comrades. Couldn't there have been anybody older, that is also trustworthy, and that really loves Bob? Isn't anybody older than Ziggy, that knew The REAL Bob ALIVE, could have been used? Because this movie just looks like it's made by plain yt people

Island Records had viewed Marley as a political revolutionary, and Robinson saw this perspective as damaging to Marley's bottom line. So he constructed a greatest-hits album that showed just one face of the Marley prism, the side he deemed most sellable to the suburbs. [...] If you're looking for mass-market appeal to secular-progressive America, you don't include songs that invoke collective guilt over the slave trade, nor do you address the inconvenient truth that the bucolic Jamaican lifestyle of reggae, sandy beaches, and marijuana embraced by millions of college freshmen, exists only because of the brutal slave trade. [...] the songs on Legend offer just a brief glimpse into his music. The definitive album of the most important reggae singer of all time is a hodgepodge collection of love songs, feel-good sentiment, and mere hints of the fiery activist whose politics drew bullets in the '70s." Vivien Goldman wrote in 2015, "when he does get played on the radio now, it's the mellow songs, not the angry songs, that get heard - the ones that have been compiled on albums such as Legend."_* _At the very least,_ this Marley film should be as _decent_ , scope filled, insightful, and aspiring as the 2008/2009, Soderbergh directed, 'Che' films...and at some point in "One Love", hopefully the Kingsley Ben-Adir version of Robert Nesta Marley obtains & maintains a very rich sun tan!!! ☀️😁

Hats off to all involved.... this is probably the hardest bio-drama to produce... Bob Marley was larger than life... a true saint/ legend/ (fill in the blank).... probably the most impossible person to portray accurately as a character. And, I'm sure attempting to do so was super intimidating and challenging. But, again- congratulations! .... cant wait to see it.

The movie looks great can't wait for the premiere. The person reenacting Bob Marley looks like he has done a great job, there is nothing wrong with the wig😢 because if you were a true fan of Bob Marley as I was raised being from the age of four on up back in Brooklyn in my Trinidadian Caribbean household. My father taught to me the ways of the Rastafarian. I listen to reggae music not just Bob Marley all my life from day one in which he sang culture reggae because it's more deep and it hits to the core life. When Bob Marley begin to grow his dreads look at his real early photos it's no different from the actors wig and Bob Marley's dreads we're not twisted he let his hair grow out and for those that don't know it's called notty dread that's when you grow your dreads and let just let them grow without always adjusting it. I cannot wait for the film it's way overdue. At the age of 47 I can honestly see when he passed away in 1981 when I was six I cried like a baby. Much love and respect to the late great Bob Marley definitely a revolutionary influential prophet man of peace that God put on this Earth for a greater purpose to help heal the world through his music he was a messenger. Rest in peace to a icon and Legend.

He doesn't have an authentic jamaican accent..it's pretty obvious. It is better than some reenactments of jamaican accents. I will say the actor mastered many of the mannerisms Bob had. However, I suppose we have to respect the wishes of the marley family as they were involved in the production of the movie.

I expected worse! (This seems to be romanticizing). However, the production of the images is beautiful, as is the reproduction of the scenes we know, which looks well done: (even if we only glimpse a few seconds in the trailer) ... I liked the musical I saw about Bob Marley --> Get Up Stand Up: The Bob Marley Musical (although I'm the kind of person who loves biopics, and I'm still not sure whether one should be made about Bob Marley or Amy Winehouse) ... The story deserves to be told, so we'll see. Normally, I like the lead actor. But here, I'm having a really hard time imagining him as Bob Marley, you can already tell they've softened the Jamaican patois a bit by changing the sentences so that everyone understands! I'm also having trouble with the fake dreads wig. The story of Bob Marley and his family is a movie in itself! I hope it won't be too romanticized for the cinema ...

I agree I imagine they definitely softened it for global consumption. I never knew there was a musical. I’ve gotta see if I can find it and check it out

@@AyChristeneGames The musical was happening recently in London on the West End ! It was great, there’s a really good album available from that show …I do hope the musical will come back soon in theaters. 🙂

He doesn’t give me the essence of Bob though! He’s just a very handsome actor pretending to be Bob Marley but I don’t get any Bob vibes from his acting and looks 🤷🏽‍♂️ I grew up listening to Bob since I was a kid and watching all his live performances and Music Videos so 🤔

Very disrespectful and immature for you to call Bob Marley the original Nick Cannon.

Kingsley Ben-Adir, doesn’t look or sound like Bob. His Jamaican accent is also off. I believe Kymani would’ve been a better choice. That being said, visuals, music & story line seem good.

This is a popular criticism & I get it, matter of fact especially amongst Jamaicans it's the only one. Personally I think the actor has done a good job capturing his movements & rhythm. I don't think "real" actors get enough credit & acting is not as easy as people think especially when we're talking about complex character arcs, tics, disappearing.. losing yourself behind real emotions & crap, Kymani has experience not taking anything from him, but I think they might have been thinking more like what an actor like Denzel Washington brings to a role of say "Malcolm X" over like a "Training Day" or " Shottas" . My greatest worry honestly was the voice & accent. To which while not as thick as Bob's has enough resemblance to his inflection & cadence to be passable, with just the right amount of "proper" English to eliminate subtitles like in Jimmy Cliff's "The Harder They Come". That trailer has certainly raised the bar & there's a lot to live up to.. if the story is good & it's cut & shot the right way that movie is gonna blow out the box 4 corners worldwide guaranteed. We just have to wait & see. 😎

The reason I don't want anything to do with this movie is the Marley family ok'd the movie. I do not trust anyone from that family to tell the truth. Bob was the revolutionary not Rita, not Ziggy none of them, I like jr gong but not even him. They will embellish the heck out of this. This movie going to be trash, as far as reality and truth. The only person I trust to tell this story in the absence of Bob would've been Bunni 🙏 RIP...But he didn't before his passing. Thats the only person I trust with this monumental project....
