Forgot,,, I have not asked any other glass artist this fusing of natural products Fused in glass. Also,,,I Fuse PMC in glass and that works well if you ever want to add metal to your pieces, you have to let the glass and silver have room to move, but it does work!

Love those colors. I agree with Jo, the first time it came out it looked like a cat. 😊

I love using rolled edges, I have had luck keeping there shape at a full fuse when I use a piece of glass underneath, so for this I would have used clear or even another piece of the glass you used. It still pulls in but not as much. Love the way the piece turned out, I had a customer years ago who loved big pieces, she loved the double bails I put on, but she wanted the bails to show.

Turned out really nice. Sometimes, not always, but putting the piece in pan of shallow water makes it possible to get a good shot of the dichro. Pan color and lighting is still a factor, but something about the water makes the dichro show up much better. And oddly, if the pan is wide enough so you can crop it out, you usually can't tell that the piece is in water.

Can I cast them first and still get the perfect delineated out come of the needles and such? I live on my very limited income so I can't afford to buy classes about this,,,plus ,,,I can't find them. I have the glass but need to start using them again. I do collect bottles to help with glass,,,But,,,The COE OF them can be hard to work out. Any chance you do home visits to help seniors with learning new firings and glass. ?

Sorry, I don’t do that kind of firing or teaching. 😕

Stunning!! It looked like you cut the cap to the same size as the main piece - I thought acap needed to be a bit bigger to drape over the sides???
@JamaisonSchuler2 жыл бұрын
The cap may be slightly bigger but about the same size, yes. I rarely worry about a cap being larger. In fact, I often cut them to the same size!
@elinorbell31402 жыл бұрын
@@JamaisonSchuler oh, does the cap still drape over the underneath layer?
@elinorbell31402 жыл бұрын
@@JamaisonSchuler also, I have a question about the copper carbonate- I tried it and only got tiny tiny bubbles 🙄 Do you cap directly on top of the powder? What could I be doing wrong to get such little bubbles?
@JamaisonSchuler2 жыл бұрын
@@elinorbell3140 for me, I don’t think it needs to drape over - it just all becomes one
@JamaisonSchuler2 жыл бұрын
@@elinorbell3140 I cap directly on the dry powder. I often get small to medium bubbles. Nothing too large. That large bubble was rare and more because of the component I used, not the powder

Please ,, can you do a glass fusing class on how to fire pine needles, small branches, real leaves, like the artist at the Aledo Leopold Center, Baraboo, WI has on their walls and doors. I can't find any info on how dry they need to be and how high to fire glass to Fuse them and burn them out. Thank!! Hope you get this!! Love your work and you are the best tutorial glass artist that I have been following. Thank you. LEOPOLD NATURE CENTER. there is a artist that has been doing work with them and hospitals. But i cant find info on how to fire my peices with Natural real leaves and branches and the pine needles. Its a nature and land conservationists that made great progress for lands here in Wisconsin.

I think what you are referring to is called fossil vitra. I’ve never had any experience with this.
